I froze 10 pounds of blueberries today. Of course, I had to sample some and they were absolutely delicious. I would have liked to dry some but with getting ready for the garage sale I will dry some later. So thankful for every little thing that gets put up for winter use.

oh yummy. pancakes, muffins, pies oh my!! I did dry some last year. They were great. Using frozen to dry makes it simple, just make sure they are thawed and well drained. I learned that last part the hard way. lol

Blueberries are always a welcomed addition to a menu any time of year! You can't go wrong and they are so easy to freeze too. Imagine blueberry pancakes some cold rainy weekend in February! That will surely change the day's outlook!! LOL!!

We love blueberries! They are my sons favorite and he asks for them all the time. In fact my daughter just said the word blueberry today! How funny. One of my favorite teas is blueberry tea. So delicious. I have done some research and our soil isn't right for blueberries which makes me sad. I would love to grow some here. Enjoy all those delicious blueberries!

Michelle, thank you for the info on being able to dry frozen blueberries. I didn't know I could do that.

Winnie, when I was freezing them I was having visions of delicious blueberry pancakes in the winter. Yummy!!!!

Dianna, blueberry smoothie! Delicious.

Krista, we bought the blueberries from a local farmer. I have clay soil here. Hoping to grow some if the soil will let me. I sure hope we can.
I actually bought another 10 pounds to freeze. Can't go wrong with that. I want to dehydrate some too.

Lori we buy frozen blueberries for our smoothies, either in a mix of other fruits of alone. I love the frozen ones more than the fresh ones. If you have a dehydrator you can blend them, pour them on a sheet of plastic(my dehydrator came with sheets,) and after a while you get fruit roll ups.

Have you tried spreading flavored yogurt (either commercial stuff or a spoonful of jam) on plastic wrap taped to the dehydrator shelf and dried? It comes out like taffy. My kids used to love this treat in their lunches for school. When it's dry you just roll it up in the plastic wrap.
