Thanks Michele and Winnie. Fortunately our fall color show is about a month long for the reds, yellows, and oranges. When they are finished the oaks begin with their coppers, golds, and silvers for the month of November. I really enjoy our changing seasons here in the midwest and autumn is the most breathtaking one!

Beautiful! Now that’s the fall I miss. Winter came early here so ours colors did not have a chance.

I miss the Midwestern Autumn - all the colors of the leaves. I grew up in LaGrange, IL, and we had many maple trees on our property - and they showed a great array fall colors every year. Unfortunately, I just learned last week that the house I grew up in has been demolished, and they removed ALL the trees my mother planted and loved. It is sad. I still have a lot of good memories of things that happened in and around that house.

Farmgirl hugs,

I'm sorry your IL family home is gone. The same thing had happened to me. All of the houses I lived in growing up, 3, have been torn down. They only exist in my memory and photos. LaGrange is East of us, my husband's boss lives there.

I hope everyone had a wonderful & colorful weekend!

Dawn, that is beautiful! All those colors are just perfect. We had an early freeze and it ruined a lot of our fall colors. Plus we aren't getting any warmer so our fall was very short. Enjoy that beauty for me!

Fun Nancy. Our leaves have been spectacular this year because we have had so much rain.

Beautiful! We were living in Brown County in southern Indiana, but moved to Virginia a few months ago. Our home there was surrounded by hills and forest and was so beautiful in autumn. I am really missing my lovely colors.

Well this is our Halloween "trick" from nature today! We got a few inches of snow. It just goes to show you that the weather is never dull here in the Midwest!
