I am not much good at sewing, but I can crochet and am getting ready to start my hat for the swap. I don’t care which kind of hat I get back as I love them all, but I can only crochet a sun hat, not a bonnet, is that ok?

Sure, Hannah, please join in! As long as it has a brim of some sort. There are lots of patterns on Pinterest and the Internet.

I added this at the top, but will also add it here. Here is a link to a Pinterest page with lots of sunbonnets and hats.

WELL!! now if I could sew like some of you girls I would be right on this. But I can't. I sew straight lines as in sewing things together. So I'm excited to see how the bonnets come out that you girls make. I Have a nice baseball cap.

Nancy you could make a split bonnet. That is what Pioneer women wore. All straight stitching.

I'm just getting started at midnight. Always been a night owl. With the time difference I'm probably going to bed when some of you are getting up.

Hey Marilyn -- I sure don't need to ask for your address since we've been partners for all three swaps I've done this month :-)

That is so true Judith! Just a couple of weeks ago I noticed that I had not had a swap with you. When it rains it pours.
You are a better seamstress than I am.
May I ask you a question. Which Bernina do you have? How old is it?
I have had four 830s and one 831. All were used. The first one I bought...in the20-25 years I used it I put three new motors on it.I sewed a lot.

My first Bernina was a 730 that I bought used in 1980. It was 10 years old and still had 15 years left on the guarantee.I still have it, along with about a million feet for it. My new Bernina is a 440QE I bough 6 years ago. My old machine had slowed down, I later found out it has a cracked gear. I had my eye on the 440 and when it went on sale I bought it. Pricey but it has been trouble free and worth every penny. It has a bunch of fancy stitches that I never use and can also do monograms. Don't ask me how, ha ha.

Marilyn and Judith -

If I had known you had been partners before. Would you like different partners? Do you want me to switch with you?
