If anyone is interested in creating and swapping an altered wooden block in the FALL/AUTUMN theme, please sign up below. Similar to our last swap, you will jazz up a wooden block approximately the size of 3x5 or 5x7 - what ever you have on hand, really! Decorate and alter it however you'd like, paint, stain, FALL inspired words or quotes, jewels, pumpkin like, what ever speaks to your heart!
(if you don't have any wood on hand, often times, your local home improvement store will have scrap wood back by their wood cutter, free for taking, always worth checking!)
One partner each.
Sign ups through August 31st.
Mail out by September 10th.

This is the perfect t time to begin your decorating for autumn Cristy! The wind changed today, and that is my signal. Long ago one hot August day I was sewing. The Windows were open and something got my attention. It was so different that I got up an went outside to see, what was different....nothing!
But inside of me I felt different, excited??? The next year I felt it again, and the next year also. I call it a God thing...almost 45 years have passed. And today, once more the wind lured me outside, and once again I feel different, excited...almost giddy! So tomorrow I will begin to open up my tubs of autumn, and begin decorating.

Marilyn, I feel the air change every year as well, here, in central oregon, three days ago the air changed, that autumn air has arrived. While we are still having warm, hot weather, it's different, the warmth is farther away if that makes any sense.. happy fall to all!

April, you are the only person I have ever heard say those special words... perhaps we are soul sisters! Now I am really excited!!!
It is still hot here as well, and it will continue for a while.
I do remember when my son was born on August 3rd, and we went home on August 5th, it was crispy hot, but on August 10th it began to rain. I remember the smell of rain drops on parched earth...I call it God's perfume...The most wonderful scent. After a couple of days the rain moved on...but returned again and again throughout the remainder of August. Autumn had arrived!that was more than a few years ago!

I am already seeing the changes . Fall is upon us, the birds are chattering & flocking, already see some leaf change & the crickets have changed their song. Hot days, cooler nights & dew. My allergies are gearing up, lol. I love Fall, it’s Winter I could do without. ;-)
Already getting my decorations ready. It keeps me sane ......

Look April, another soul sister has also noticed the change. About eight last evening, as I was coming back from pinning my chickens up, a beautiful autumn breeze hit me in the face. The scents, the coolness, and the humidity from the garden plants...it was as if God was reassuring me that YES IT IS TIME!!!

YES!! It's time, Autumn is arriving... I had candles lit last night, windows open, it was still 80 degrees here, but the air was sooooooo FALL AIR! The breeze, that warm, fall breeze. My lavendars are going to seed and the little finches have arrived to feed - we've had nearly 100 finches here between our two lavendar hills. One of my favorite fall things to do is watch those beautiful little birds frolic and feed amongst my lavendars... and the lavendar scent just floats on the breeze as they play! On my stove top last night, sausage potatoe soup! A family favorite! Such a beautiful and cozy time of year!
