Wow! Marilyn, you're on top of it!!! I haven't even started mine yet, still waiting for the right inspiration to strike!! But.... I'm nearly ready for fall!! Mr. Scarecrow should be flying in and coppin' a squat in my yard sometime in the next couple weeks! I have always surprised my boys with Mr. Scarecrow while they were little! :-)

April, we're your boys scared of the scarecrow?
My family and me as well, always have a "period of adjustment" when I bring out old mr. Scarecrow. He sits in an old lawn chair under a huge old oak tree. If you just catch a glimpse from him from the corner of your eye... Your mind may think it is a real person!

Hi Marilyn, No, my boys were not scared of Mr. Scarecrow, he would always show up the first week in September when they went back to school, they would always be surprised and happy to see him, wondering when he flew in that day and if I saw him land and perch himself in our yard somewhere! Fun memories, the kids just grow up too fast! We must all safeguard that childlike innocence - those are the special moments in life. Mr. Scarecrow still flies in every fall, he even has himself a gal friend now!! LOL!! :-) Love your idea of perching him on a chair under your old oak tree!

I might have to give this a try next time. Now that I see what y'all do with scrap wood, it makes me think about all the stuff I have from a few years back when I got into egg decorating. Eye issues kind of prevent me from doing the tedious work required for egg art these days. But I think a lot of the "stuff" could be used for wood art . . . hmmmmmm. I'm fairly new to MJF. As soon as I catch up with some of the swaps I've already signed up for, I'll consider this one. Got lotsa ideas floating around in my little pea brain now. LOL

Jean I sort of understand the eye issue thing. When I was finally able to have an appointment with the eye doctor, he said my old prescription was in need of a change. Then he gave me the cataract news. Next year I will need to have them removed. This is not fun. Some days my new glasses and I get along just fine...other days my new prescription seems all wrong. So I may be seeing the surgeon sooner than I thought. I don't know...

Jean, I never thought of using a baby's block as the wooden block! That is a good idea. I have access to lots of scrap wood, since my son is a building contractor. So that is what I have been using.I
Next time I need to take a look and see where I saw that child's block recently.

I keep trying to convince me that fall is not here. Then another of the leaves from the walnut tree beside the house hits me in the head.The air is changed. It really is fall. My first day for this school year is but one day away. My kids won't be starting until September 8th if all goes well. I pray we get to begin and all are safe.
Mother Nature has her paintbrush at the ready. Those cute critters I have been watching have grown into their feet and are ready for the world.
Surely God is in control!

Yes, fall is here Terri, I didn't think I was ready, but i most certainly am now! I even asked my hubba hubba to bring in all my fall decor this weekend, mama's gonna decorate!
