Ha! I love it! My chicken yard always has a small FM radio going. It is supposed to ward off predators. (Although I have a regular visitor, an opossum we nicknamed “Radio” who literally lays across the top of the radio at night). Anyway, it is my favorite time of year because the radio is now playing CHRISTMAS CAROLS! They are doing them early this year. YIPPPEEEEEE!

Oh my Nicole your chickens are spoiled for sure. If you want another opossum or two to go with Radio I'll send you how many you want. My neighborhood is overrun with those critters.

So funny Nicole! I love possums---we are still feeding ours and we can tell them apart---also racoons. One is so fat he looks like Cartman on South Park---no joke. I say---let's feed them a little bit and they won't eat our chickens. LOL---and maybe true. We raised 31 chickens in the spring---got them on June 1st. They are already laying eggs---even before six months old. The bad part is we got two roosters out of the batch and one is already molesting hens and eyeballing me---won't let me in the chicken house---we are hoping to keep him nice and not have to off his head. Such fun chickens and so worth the trouble. When they were little we would hold them and make them into rubber chickens---so funny. Happiness is possums and chickens---LOL>

When I was young we use to hold the chickens head down to the ground and draw a line from the beak with chalk. It hypnotized them and they would stay in that position for a long time. My kids tried that with all kids of animals. It worked with some lizards but not with kittens. Good cheep fun. We have possum visitors in our small town backyard. They like to investigate my compost pile. When we had outside cats they loved the cat food. We had a ladder to the roof and saw one one night climbing down the ladder. I guess that's the noise we hear up on the roof some nights.

Nicole, your chickens are spoiled! Lol! But I am in agreement with you. I have been sneaking in some Christmas music as well! Our radio station finally switched to Christmas music a couple of days ago. It does seem early but I think its because we all need some holiday cheer in these crazy times.
