Sara,
Did you do the carrots together with the peas?
I've done carrots with garlic and ginger and they were so good!
The snow peas I did were my favorite of anything, except maybe the brined pickles. I just did them with the salt and dill.
I'm glad you like the lids!

Lisa, I did them together. Maybe it was the recipe or maybe I just don't like fermented snap peas and carrots.

We all like different things, that is for sure. I have been looking at electric pressure canners. Not sure I want to take the plunge but they do look handy. I am on a facebook group and alot really like them. anyone else use one?

Michelle, when I was looking for a small pressure canner no electric canners on the market. I will have to check them out, would make canning in my Yellow Rose Cottage a lot easier.

I forgot to mention I also fermented 2 quarts of green tomato relish. The green tomatoes came out of my sister's tomato patch. The relish was a sucess - really tasty.

Sara, what a great idea to do the mini cucumbers. We only have tomatoes and peppers in containers this year so not getting much. No peppers yet. We had one but it wasn't big enough to pick before something took it. Not sure what. Possibly raccoon or bunny. Those are the only animals I've seen around here. Any way there are more blossoms so we might get a few anyway. We picked 8lbs of blueberries and I froze those. Saved some fresh to have for snacks and with breakfast. Going to go pick again tomorrow maybe. We have the peach truck coming in a couple weeks so I will be busy with those. The freezer is filling up. Noticed last night that when we stopped to get something to eat the prices have gone up and the portions have gone down. Hmm.

I picked strawberries Saturday morning at a patch. I picked 5 - 5 quart pails. Froze them on cookie sheets, and pans. Just put them in freezer bags. So easy to pull out what I want when they are froze like that. Saved some for a pie, which I just made this morning.

Michelle, you're enjoy all your hard work come winter. Good job on putting up the strawberries.

I dried one tray each of peppermint and chocolate mint. Will have another cutting in late fall. Will harvest the strawberry mint in the morning. My dehydrator only has two trays. Sometimes I think I want a larger dehydrator then reality sets in and I know two trays is what I need.

Strawberry mint is in the dehydrator. It has such a strong smell. When I came in from watering I was hit by a sweet aroma. It took me a minute before I could make out where it was coming from then it hit me it was from the strawberry mint being in the house before I took it to the Yellow Rose Cottage to dry it. The aroma is gone now but it was so nice while it lasted.

I bet that does smell delicious Sara. I have so much of everything left over from last year, I am not drying any herbs this year. One of my daughter in laws picked some of everything. Hopefully she got them dried. We got our meat birds processed yesterday. Nice to have them in the freezer. Will can old hens, once the young ones start laying this fall. Got the back and necks to make stock with. I will wait till I have more time to make the stock.

Michelle, I am in awe of you and all you get done. Canned broth is so handy to have in the pantry.

I brewed the strawberry mint with my black tea for morning tea. It showered during the night, so I am celebrating. We need a week of soaking rain, but I'll take every drop we get.

Thank goodness for the rain. We have been getting rain now, in bits and pieces. We do need a few all day slow soakers. Got enough wild raspberries and black caps to make a batch of jam now. Yippee. Will do that some rainy day too. hot and humid this week. That will make the corn grow. Happy Gardening and enjoy your tea Sara.

My garden is starting to produce now. Peas are filling out, baby string beans on the vine. Zucchini is going strong. Chickens like that too. Tomatoes have turned into a jungle. Keeping up on the weeding too. Need to get weeding on some raised beds I have though. Been a bit too warm, and I have been lazy.

Froze a few bags of string beans and peas tonight. Got cucs to make into, not sure what they are called other then cucumbers, in a vinegar and sugar. my husband loves them anyways. And the ever present zucchini is on my counter. I will shred some of it and make more zucchini bread. Got a new baby coming on Monday so will make up some to take to my son and his wife. Grandchild number 8, fingers crossed all goes well.

Picked 8 lbs of blackberries on Saturday and froze most of them. Made blackberries and dumplings for dessert Sunday. Picked another 5 lbs this morning. Freezing those. Did 4lbs of strawberries on Monday. I plan to get some freezer meals done soon.

Made zucchini bread with my zucchini flour and a pan of zucchini brownies with zucchini four. This is my first try at using zucchini flour from extra garden zucchini.

Theresa, tell us more about making zucchini flour. I have given up using wheat flour and buy almond flour. So far, I have used the almond flour in the cornbread mix I keep on hand.

It is a great patch Michele. I picked 5 more lbs on Tuesday morning. One thing I haven't had much this year is zucchini. What I do get I have been using in salads in place of cucumbers. I think I'd put just about anything in a salad. Lol.

Thanks everyone. We were supposed to visit last night, but they ended up back in the hospital. Jaundice issues. Hopefully he gets past it quickly. We did take a meal over to the house, and flowers. I get the daughter in laws flowers after each birth.
