I didn't make it,,, but.. I love it..

Hubby and I took our fur kid to the Groomers last week,, and to kill an hour we masked and gloved up and went into one of my favorite Thrifts.. and look what I got!

21x27 hand stitched and quilted wall hanging..

all hand stitched...

with candy cane top stitching..
and best of all...

stitched by a 'Jeri Hankel" in 2018..

I wonder who she is,, and did she make it as a gift for someone or?
Only this sweet wall hanging knows the story..
Oh and did I tell you what I paid for it???? it was tagged $2.99 but was on 1/2 price so I got it for $1.50... yep!

That is a great find, Grace. Have you tried searching for her? Zabasearch.com is a great search engine, I have found many people that way. Or on Facebook.

Something I found years ago, that I hang every year as a decoration, is this wreath wall hanging made from log cabin Squares. I found it for five dollars in a thrift shop and could not have made it for that price at all. It is 30" square.

Love it! I was curious...googled the name on FB. One came up in Spokane...

Makes me kind of sad to see something made so recently in a thrift. Did she make it for a gift and it wasn’t appreciated? I know it is in a good home now!

I found one in Spokane on FB, too. Maybe she is the one who crafted this nice piece.

I was thinking the same thing as Nicole. Makes me sad to think someone wouldn’t want it. Definitely in better hands now! I would love to hear if you she contacts you. Keep us updated!

That is for sure. We never know when we gift something to someone whether their likes are in sync with ours. And, unfortunately, once we gift it, it is theirs, so we have no further say in whether they keep it or not. I have gifted numerous quilts, and often wonder if they are being used as they were intended when gifted. Of course, if something like that ends up in a thrift shop, someone like me or Grace or many of you farm girls will scoop it up and display it proudly.

Linda,, for sure!
Ditto for crochet/knitted afghans.. I have scored so many in new condition... some are in my trailers and motorhome and it's nice to have a stack for when the grand kiddos come over...they get to pick out their favorite and snuggle while watching TV...

It is very sad to see such treasures in a thrift store.... but thankfully they have good homes now
