April, thank you so much! I love everything - the fabric ribbon, the photo block, the crocheted dish cloths/wash cloths, the postcards about Redmond and your lovely note. The best thing was the scrapbook! I have always wanted to do one so now I have something to learn from. I can't wait to fill it! Again, I just love everything! I am so happy you were chosen as my partner.

Here's my sewing room. I don't have a scrap basket. I put all the scraps with what is left of that piece of fabric & everything is stashed on shelves. My projects are put in individual containers to keep the fabrics needed out of my stash. I throw away anything smaller than I cannot make a small yoyo out of it. I am thinking about starting to keep my scraps by size so I may end up with several scrap baskets one of these days....lol. Plus, I have lots of baskets I could fill....lol.

Hi Joan,

I'm happy you liked it all - I'm very "beginner" when it comes to crochet and sewing... but my heart is always full of love when I try. A very happy spring to you and I do hope you enjoy filling the pages of the junk journal/scrap book... one of my favorite things to create and keep.

P.S. LOVE your craft room! HEAVENLY!

April, I keep forgetting to call it a junk journal. I am excited to figure out what I want to put in it. Thank you, again, for everything you sent! And I do love my craft/sewing room. Hope you are having sunshine & nice temperatures like we are having now. Happy Spring, April!

Joan, I was blessed to have April as my partner in a swap and I received an Autumn junk journal. I loved it then and I still do.
April is so talented!
She and Sherry Buck are two ladies that I am always in awe of the talents God has given them. We are so blessed to know them and their work.

I may have to give up on swapping for a bit. My hands and thumbs are so painful and weak. The problem with my right arm got much better last Tuesday...then the thumbs and hands started. Misery! But I am forever hopeful that with the new pain patches and the product that my husband bought...in two weeks I shall be "mo beddur"as cowboys say.

Marilyn -- I feel for you. I have my doctor appointment tomorrow to address the same issues. Tylenol, CBD, essential oils...... I've been trying everything.

I've tried those too Judith. Now I'm taking these capsules my hubby bought. They ate Alpha Lipoic Acid. It is supposed to help with nerves, you know restoring the sheath around the nerves.

Awe, Marilyn, you are too kind, thank you! I'm happy to know you still love that little ole' junk journal! I do hope you feel better soon. I have been starting to have issues with my hands as well, and all my joints, too. But, I'm grateful to wake up every single morning. I just lost my dad in January and he would always tell me aging is better than the alternative. I miss him soooo.

Have you ladies tried the now over the counter arthritis cream called VOLTAREN? Seems to work for me right now in my early stages... just thought I would suggest it in case you haven't tried it or heard of it. About $10 - $15 a tube in the pharmacy.

My package didn't get to the post office yesterday due to long doctor visit and rush hour traffic. Hopefully today.
The doctor put my hand in a splint and has me icing it three times a day. She thinks I may have tendonitis in addition to the arthritis. I had my hand in a splint for a month last fall and in the long run it didn't help. We shall see.

Hello, Linda!!!
I did find your wonderful package waiting for me, you are so talented! I absolutely love the gifts you created! The tea cozy is amazing, I love cats! And I can hardly wait to try the potato bag in the microwave, it's brilliant!! I'd never heard of these but several people I've shared with have commented how much they love to use them. I'll report back! :) And the little pouch will be put to very good use, I promise. I've still never made anything with a zipper, it seems very difficult, but yours is flawless! Your scrap stash must be quite something; I love the fabrics you used. Thank you for for these wonderful gifts. Yours are on their way to you!

Nice things. Cute cat!
Jill you can put a zipper in.
My grand daughter, at age nine, with me sitting beside her, being very quiet...put a 14"zipper in a new dress she wanted to make. I was amazed.
These are the tips I gave her. Start to sew your seam, about 2-3", then press it open. Also press the remainder of the length of fabric where the zipper will go...both sides.
Then go to your machine...do you have the zipper foot in place and adjusted?
I told her to stitch, slowly and carefully , right beside the zipper teeth...going from bottom to top of the zipper. Cut the thread and return to the starting place. This time the zipper teeth must be covered by the fabric, you need to reposition your needle so it comes down on the other side of the zipper foot...and first you must secure the zipper by stitching across the bottom...then pivot and slowly begin to guide your machine to the top of the zipper. Wow! Success!
It is so easy if you prepare by pressing first.

So glad you like the things I made, Jill. I call the cat a barn/farm cat since her "coat" is cow fabric. Lol!! I LOVE my baked potato bags - work every time.

Natalie, Thank You very much for the Swap gifts. I love them. Never thought of using a yoyo for the inside of the pin cushion. I have a picture frame with wire across the center and the clothespins will be perfect to hold things on it. Love the fabric on the notebook. Thanks again.

Your package was mailed out yesterday. You should have it soon. If not I have the tracking number.

Oh my stars. You should see this awesome little Scrap Happy quilt I received from Judith. The photo simply can't do it justice. Just so you get it in perspective, the little squares around the outside border are 1" square -- so small. And yet all the tiny points are absolutely perfect. StitchinWitch should be called StitchinGeniuis!! Thank you so much Judith. It is beautiful and I LOVE it.
Farmgirl hugs,
jean
