Oops! I have a rather zealous pumpkin... It was ready to pick... So now it is sitting on my kitchen counter, waiting for me to decide what to do with it!
Not enough to make a pumpkin pie,, but maybe enough to make pumpkin cookies!!! BTW... It's 93' degrees... Pass the iced tea plz...

Now that is a beautiful pumpkin you grew!! It has that picture perfect coloring and shape too. Maybe keep it until the days get cooler and it really does feel more like fall for you. I did see where you all are having an awful heat wave again. UGH!! You have my sympathies. Stay cool and I hope the pattern changes and better days will show up soon!

Grace that's a good looking pumpkin with a great stem. One of my favorite things to do is pick out pumpkins in the fall. I always look for the ones with interesting & sturdy stems. I use the stems in making fabric pumpkins.

Grace, I have not ever seen the use of netting to grow something off the ground. Totally unique and I am sure it works well too. Your tomatoes are looking real good as well. Nothing like fresh tomatoes in the Summer fresh from the garden!

Oh Grace, your pumpkin is perfect! I think it may help you feel a bit more fall like while you wait for the real fall. I am getting excited to have pumpkin spice everything. I planted some pumpkins this year. I hope they turn out great for me.

My tomatoes are ripening like popping corn in the pan! lol!
I picked the last cucumber yesterday and made Cucumber salad with last nights dinner.. (left over's for tonight) I may have to can up the tomatoes for salsa.
Gardening makes me happy.. I love watching the Bees, Lady bugs, and Praying Mantis... all working in the garden...
This years garden was a bit of a struggle due to the late summer, then sudden high temps and horrid amount of grass hoppers! But in spite of it all,, my garden came through,, my sunflowers became the source for my Morning glories, cucumbers, and even my tomatoes to grown on and up...
Tomorrow is lavender pruning day.... and I do need to kind of thin out some older plants out of both the veggie beds and flower beds.. Next week, I'll deal with the Irish & Gladiola patch.. If you are bored,, come on over,, I have an extra pair of gloves and clippers.. I'll make a fresh batch of iced tea.. and maybe even some scones!
Happiness is garden dirt under your nails...

Grace, this is my first year growing pumpkins and I think some of mine may have turned orange early too. I'm not sure if that's normal lol. But it sure has me excited!
