Sorry to hear you have epilepsy Audra. I'm glad you have found things to calm your brain. My doctor has me on a product called neuro calm. I don't know if it works for your illness. I do not have epilepsy but have Lyme disease which wrecks havoc on the brain.

I think mixed media is my favorite form of creating handmade gifts. I can do it all myself and don't have to rely on my DH to do any of the steps. With our hollow books he makes the wood drawer and cuts out the pages. I embellish them to make them pretty and functional. We are a good team.

myfavorite hobby is knitting and tatting. It's been a challenge with my carpel tunnel in my wrists though. But I really like it.

Wow there are some really talented farmgirls here. I think I dabble or will try once everything. My passions are gardening and making things with my herbs. Then it would be cooking.

Counted cross stitch takes up most of my time. I do a lot of Christmas stockings for new babies. I also enjoy cardmaking for the swaps.

Greetings! My favorite hobby is quilting. The majority of my quilts are for raffles or gifts. A snow storm is headed our way tomorrow so the goal is to finish a raffle quilt top for the sewing ministry at church......actually a surprise donation for they group. Contacted my friend who does the machine quilting and she expects to be able to turn it around by the end of the month. Now that I have retired, it is nice to know that I don't need a snow day to stay in my sewing room!

I did some when I was younger. I helped my grandma make quilts and I can crochet., my sister is a excellent seamstress. She can make anything. She will be helping me with the curtains and my upholstery for my camper. I always try to stay busy and I like to learn new things.
I owned and operated a hair salon in Mobile Al for 18 years then I sold it 3 years ago and since I have learned to oil paint , play guitar and , carpentry on my camper. I guess you would say I went from a beach farm girl to mountain farm girl when we moved to East Tn to live on my husbands family farm and I am learning to be a real farm girl. We will be getting cows by next spring and my mother in law grows organic vegetables.
I would love to learn to sew and I have been looking for a machine. I need something simple. I may have to sew the curtains since my sister is so busy and she is in AL. I ordered Mary Janes Stitches book and outpost and I can't wait till they get here!

Greetings Lisa: Will start by saying, it is SNOWING again in NY today! I have been working on elder care paperwork this morning and hope to sit at my sewing machine soon! It sounds like you are busy with your new farm life, how exciting! If you keep your eyes opened and spread the word that you are in the market for a sewing machine, I'm sure a great used one will find you. If a machine in a cabinet finds you, make sure you open it and lift up the macine for several days so the oil runs through the machine like is should when being used, instead of storage mode! I have a sewing machine collection, mostly vintage machines. I follow Bonnie Hunter's blog. She is a wonderful quilter. Scraps are her way! Bonnie was a guest at the local Quilt Guild meeting many years ago. I have several of her books, however, she offers many free patterns on her website. Check our her site & blog! I also love Kim Diehl's work and have her new release pre-ordered! I joined the MJ Sisterhood in December. I've earned one badge and have been working on several different ones at the same time; need to sit down and summarize my work/readings/findings and earn a few more badges! Keep in touch!

Yes I’m excited about trying for the barges.
I think the first thing I want to make is bunting flags for my little vintage camper. That should not be to hard. Thanks for the referral for the quilt making and links I will ch I them out.
It’s not raining yet in TN but it’s getting cold and suppose to snow tomorrow. I’m over this winter weather. Maybe this will be the last of it.
Keep in touch and have a good weekend.

I guess you would call collecting vintage things would be a hobby. I have been restoring my 63 Scottsman travel trailer named Mary Jane and when I’m done hopefully before the end of spring I want to travel to the mountains festivals in East TN and to the beaches of Florida and Alabama where I am from and sell my art and vintage finds. I have a Facebook page called Strange Art & Vintage Finds w/Mary Jane where I post things I find and some of my art for sale. Come see my Finds. We are also in the process of buying a historical home in downtown Dandridge TN that we will be restoring also. One day it my be home to my Strange Art & Vintage Finds. And a office for our Strange Excavating Business. That is if I don’t live in it. I also want to can jelly’s and jams to sale on my Glamper And also aprons. This is the perfect group for me to learn to make these things.
It is nonstop raining here today and tomorrow. I may have time to read my new Mary Janes outpost and sewing books I just got today. Y’all have a good weekend. Keep in touch.

Hi Lisa: You sound like a busy gal! I'm sure your art work is beautiful and SO wonderful you will be able to sell from your camper and then a beautiful restored historical home! Good luck to you. I do not have a Facebook account. I try to limit my time with technology. I am trying to develop a small business plan to sell the items I sew/quilt. I have a few ideas brewing to incorporate my vintage sewing machine collection with quilts and other sewn items. A few house projects need to be completed first and spring needs to really arrive before I can start to develop my idea further. The sun is out today and it sounds like our area will be in for two 70+ days later in the week which will be so nice!!!! I have several MJ books, I recently pulled a few to reference as I prepare for a few badges. I ordered 'The Book of Awesome' and will start that for a badge requirement. I decided to purchase the book so I can share it with my nieces. I also have started to look through MJ's Wild Bread...........Yikes!!!! Seems very involved and an equipment investment. I plan on joining the Wild Bread forum as well. Do you make bread?

Have a great day!

That sounds like a great plan for your quilting business. , I am excited about my venture also.
Right now I’m doing some carpentry work on my camper. I am determined to get it done by summer!
All winter I have been rewearing and watching videaos on restoring vintage campers. I bought MJs book Glampers when I bought my camper.
It is a beautiful day here and I took the tarps off and working on my plan of attack. Lol.
Have a good day !!!

I enjoy making greeting cards and photo albums. Then if I have extra time, I enjoy listening to country music while reading.

Julie I have always wanted to be a better photographer. I want to learn how to stage products I sell on Etsy to be more inviting. I've just been seeing what other's do to get some pointers.

Joan I love making cards and albums too. I have made paper bag albums.

I am a dancer. I am a competitive Irish Dancer, and I just started taking ballet class. Besides dance, I love to read, latch hook, blog, paint, cuddle my guinea pigs, curl (like the olympic sport), take classes and go to Disneyland.

I like to stay busy!

Everyone has such cool hobbies. I've never met anyone who makes greeting cards, that's so cool!
