The cooler weather Autumn brings is always welcome around here. Summer flowers are beautiful but when they are gone there are many more to enjoy. Camellias are one of my favorites outside. These are some of my Camellias blooming right now. Every year we add more Camellias. If I had to be loyal to just one flower, it would the Camellia. So glad to not have to choose just one! Also, Zygo cactus is lovely inside when they start blooming.

Natalie,
That looks so pretty. Holly is all I get here. Looks nice against the snow if you can see it. All my flowers are about done now, still have a couple of mums but they don't feel so good. Forecast for snow here over the next several days.

Holly is pretty. It's nice to still have evergreens after our flowers go dormant. Hopefully we get some snow this year. Ours doesn't last long though you would think we would be snowed in for months the way people make a run for the stores. Ha! Stay warm!!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful flowers with us. Winter has made a few attempts here in the Chicago area and has zapped everything on us. Our autumn show was cut a bit short thanks to the snow we had last week. Please keep posting your blooming flowers for those of us who won't have any blooming in our yards until next spring!

Natalie, those flowers are gorgeous. We got a flower that blooms in the cold, but for the life of me I can not remember the name. Just 2 weeks ago we had a very early hard freeze and it killed them. I was so bummed. They were beautiful. I will have to look for some of those camellia. They are beautiful!

It seems like it's going to be a cold Winter for a lot of people this year. I will be happy to share the blooming flowers and hope they bring joy. The Beauty Berries (2 different varieties)are going right now. The birds love them. Stay warm!!!

It is always a bummer when flowers get zapped! Camellias have different bloom times depending on the variety from Autumn to Winter (and even into Spring). They are wonderful and almost unbelievable when snow is on the vibrant flowers. I have a feeling we will have a snow this year in Georgia. Hellebores is another plant that can be planted in zones 4 - 9 that blooms late Winter to early Spring. When they get going I will post pictures. Stay warm!!!

Sharing more flowers in bloom~
New Camellia bloom this morning...
Strawberry bush leaves are so vibrant right now.
We planted lilac/purple pansies and these very interesting orange ones last week.

Thank you for the wonderful color fix Natalie! We had so much cold and snow this fall already that everything was zapped before it could really shine. Now our delightfully quirky Midwestern weather has decided to warm up to the 30's and 40's, so bloom times are definitely over until next spring.

Wow, so much snow and it's not even Winter yet! Every time I get a chance to snap a shot of something flowering that I think would lift spirits, I will post it here. The Camellias (some varieties) will be what blooms in the Winter here until the Crocus pops out of the ground. Stay warm!

I have roses that still bloom in October and again in December. They don't seem to mind the cold. We don't get much snow here though it does get cold.

I will try to get a picture of the roses when they bloom.
Here is a photo of my Thanksgiving cactus. I thought it was a Christmas cactus but it rarely blooms at Christmas. Usually on Valentine's and st. Patrick's day.

Your cactus is gorgeous and looks so healthy! A couple of mine are blooming right now, but they are not consistent in their times. Do you fertilize yours?
Not long ago I saw one online that was 103 years old. So, we know it's possible!

Blue Rosemary flowers! To bring a sprig of this indoors livens up the kitchen, and is good to have nearby to pinch off the leaves for cooking.
