Heard on the radio today as I drove to church; A runner in the Indiana State Cross Country Finals meet came upon a fellow runner who had fallen and was on the ground as he was approaching the finish. He stopped and helped the other competitor up from the ground. They both proceeded to the finish. One of the rules for the runners is that they may not assist other runners with the consequence of disqualification. When asked why he had done it, the runner responded that it was just what his parents had taught him, treat others as you want to be treated. Upon review of the tape, the officials determined it was not the type of assisting that was being pointed to in the rule. The runner was not disqualified.

Terri, reminds me of the good Samaritan.

My happy note today is seeing all the birds at the feeder and listening to them sing. Right now I'm hearing one and it sounds like he's saying tweety bird tweety bird tweet.

My Happy Note for today is that my fabrics for the November 10" Fabric Swap are finally being delivered to the other swap members! Yay! I mailed them on 11/2/20.

And the second part of my Happy Note is that my turkey is in the oven and almost done! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Terri, I loved that story!
Denise, same here. Todays happy note, although it's very cloudy and muddy out the birds are flitting here and there singing and doing their joyful work! Especially the pileated woodpeckers! How I enjoy and live their chatter!#128513;plus, I've finally quiet time to write my friends and penpals!

My Happy Note for today is...My husband and I shared 4 quiet days together and got a lot of things done around the house and yard. A bonus we are finally getting some cooler weather here in Florida. I opened the sliding door to let it all come in.

Terri, That is beautiful. I love when it snows. It seems to quiet the world and helps us slow down. Though for me sometimes it gives me energy and then we have to bundle up and go out in it!

Sorry I missed this Terri.
My happy note is that for the past months since June I have found 3 things to be thankful for everyday and writing it in my gratitude journal has become a good habit. I am also happy to have my granddaughter here for the day to help me clean up my craft areas.
Last but not least I got my daily hour of walking in this morning.

Terri, I had forgotten about posting any "Happy Notes" as too many things have been going on. I want to tell you that my "Happy Note" for today covers several days. My husband and I caught Covid-19 right after Thanksgiving. I am so thankful that we did not get sick enough to have to go to the hospital! My husband has several health problems and was sicker than I was, but I am thankful he pulled through! We are now over it and past our quarantine time. We had been around our daughter, April, her daughter, Chrissy, and Chrissy's daughter (our first great-granddaughter), Aurora (who will be 2 on Jan 31st). They all three tested negative, Thank the Good Lord! We were able to see them at Christmas, which definitely was a Blessing! I am thankful that my brother-in-law, Bill, is responding well to his treatment for Stage 4 Renal Cancer. This is his 3rd bout with cancer, and it is wonderful that he has such a terrific attitude! I am thankful that my son's father-in-law, Chuck, is now Cancer Free from Stage 4 Esophagus Cancer. Then they found a spot on one of his lungs, but it was benign so he is definitely Cancer Free! I am thankful for being able to share this with my Farmgirl Sisters. Lastly, I am so Blessed to be a part of the Farmgirl Sisterhood. Many of you inspire me every day to continue on. I want to Thank you for that!

My happy note for today is that I finally received my stocking on the 14th from the Christmas Stocking Swap 2020. It was chocked full of goodies, too. I was able to finish a postcard & mail it to my Aunt Mary who is in the last stage of Parkinson's Disease. And I was able to mail out my fabrics for the fabric swap. It also snowed again today & we got another inch. Hope everyone's day was a good one!

My happy note also covers a stretch of time...several months. I have a permanent home in Florida now as the travel had become to much for us and we love our location. We face timed with the family for Thanksgiving and enjoyed that so much. Feeling blessed and our year here is off to a great start. We are well and I am "homemaking" such fun! Also I joined a book club of ladies from across the country and the 6 of us are friends from the Alaska living we did years ago. We face time on zoom once a month. It has been so healthy to read and share with friends. I'm also grateful to the Mary Jane farm-girls for being so gracious and supportive for each other as it inspires me when I see it.

My Happy not today; one of my students admitted she prefers to be in school for classes as opposed to home for our snow day yesterday.

And, it is so neat to read your happy notes esp. on grey days like today.

My happy note for today is that we are covered in about three inches of snow (would love more but I'll take it) and I saw the Carolina wren at the bird feeder. S/he is kind of elusive. I have two and rarely see them together so it's a real treat to catch a glimpse of even one. It will also be sunny and cold for the next three days - hubby built a beautiful ice rink for me in the backyard and although I mangled my knee, I am hoping to get out there and skate.

It has to be a great sign. We saw about a dozen robbins stoop by our house this morning to check out our feeders. I think they were just passing through. Spring can't be far away right?
