I hope everyone has a wonderful July 4th today and celebrating!

If you have a chance to reply here, let us know how you love to celebrate this day. Favorite foods? Outside gatherings?

Summertime has arrived and the watermelons and berries are ripe and ready for come cobblers and enjoying. Now that watermelons are mostly seedless, there are no more backyard seed spitting contests!! LOL!!! Growing up, that was part of the fun in the backyard!

We are at the coast and in our neighborhood there will be a golf cart parade then a BBQ, watermelon, a boat parade at the Inlet then fireworks.
Not much happens at home, so the beach is the place to be for us! Although, right now the rain is pouring down, but should pass on over before all of the activities. Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th!!

A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.

We're going over to my son's today. Grilling hamburgers and banana splits. We used to do awesome fireworks and skeet shooting but someone bought the property next to them so we just sit by the little lake and eat and visit now. The guys may do some fishing. Usually it's hotter than a firecracker for the Fourth but today the weather is predicted to be an enjoyable 85.

Hope you all had a wonderful day!

Karen, do you have more than the one doggie?

It sounds like there was lots of fun gathering with family and friends and enjoying those summertime favorites. We had lots of people in the neighborhood doing fire crackers and I imagine there were also lots of dogs and kitties under beds shivering!! When we had a cat and dog, they spent New years Eve and July 4th together under our bed together. Misery loves company!

Denise, Yes. My hubby and I have 2 shihtzus (Maizy, 10 & Minnie, 9) and 1 French bulldog (Olive, 3). We also have 4 cats. The French bulldog and the cats were fine but not are “girls” as we call them. We adopted them from a rescue that had removed them from a puppy mill. Both of them had numerous litters as they weren’t rescued until the age of 6 and 7. They are living their best lives now…sleeping on the back of the couch most of the day! :)

I saw some Frenchies when I visited the pet store. I had the boston out playing with her. I know I'm going to cave soon if I keep visiting them.

Happy 4th of July! We always celebrate by going to my hubby's hometown and participating in their festivities. They are mainly tailored to children, so my kids love it! We never miss going.
