I thought it would be fun to share our thoughts on random things.

Here's the first question - would you rather drive or fly somewhere that is more than a days drive away?

I prefer to drive but mostly because my husband does all the driving and I get to see all the wonderful things out the window!

I think drive. That way you can see new country and stop and get out to look around. Kind of hard to do that on a flight :). Brad always drives, too. He says my driving is too scary for him to fall asleep….whatever!

I like to drive too as you can see more of our beautiful countryside. Tom does all the driving too. I have not driven in many years myself but I do have a current drivers license. And that’s a story for another day:-)

Good question Heather. I would definitely rather drive, I love to explore! I dream of a cross-country trip to see it all. Like Debbie K’s husband, Bentley won’t even let me drive the three hours back to NC. He tried it once and said he can’t sleep or relax, he would rather be the one driving. So flying may be in my future, if that’s the only way to make it happen.

As a kid, I vividly remember storming off a plane huffing, "I will never fly again!" The plane had been delayed, ran out of snacks, and I am [still] insufferable when hangry. Little did I know my dad would get a job with the same airline and share his flight privileges with his adult kids to allow us to meet up regularly even though we live on opposite coasts. So these days, I would rather fly than figure out how to clear the calendar thoroughly enough to allow us to make the drive. Besides, how would we drive to places like Europe or Hawaii?

That said, it would be so cool to see the world by train (Transiberian rail), by foot (Pacific Crest Trail), or by bike (Portland, OR - Portland, ME/ Race Across America).

Chris - I would LOVE to do the transiberian rail one day! I also think hiking the Appalachian trail would fun.

You made me laugh Karen! It's OK to like them both.

I'm guessing most of us will feel the same about this one but I'm going to ask anyway - would you rather read the book or watch the movie?
I like a good movie, but I'd rather read the book any day!

Umm, that one is hard as I love movies. But, I really love reading books so I will go with reading a book.

Read the book! And then maybe watch the movie? For example…Gone With the Wind. There was so much in the book that wasn’t in the movie but the visuals in the movie were great.
Speaking of the Appalachian Trail and books…there is a wonderful book about an older woman who walked the trail alone! Grandma Gatewood’s Walk. She was an inspiring and gutsy lady.

Debbie I have that book in my TBR pile. She was definitely a gutsy lady, can’t wait to read it!

Read a book for me. My TBR pile is always high, but it gives me something to look forward to. Debbie I will be looking for that book. Sounds like a good one.
