I love the topic of Hygge - so I thought it might be fun to share some of our cozy ideas that we are loving this winter. So let's talk cozy and later this winter, we can share some Hygge fun! If you'd like to share some cozy, keep an eye out for sign ups in early February and then we'll mail out at the end of February.

First - did you know there is a Hygge song?? Thanks to my granddaughter Caroline - I have now listened to the Frozen musical soundtrack too many times - and she thinks Hygge is a silly word - but I just loved that they had a song about it. If you have a mind to, go on over to YouTube and search for Frozen Musical Hygge https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pfi8Jn6BoCY br / Silly but so cute!

Cozy ideas at our house:

We keep battery operated candles in our windows all through the winter months since it's dark so early. We found some at Ace Hardware that are on timer so they come on and turn off with no worries.

Twinkle lights - just love those!

Hot tea and blankets with a good book

Stay cozy everyone!

Laura, I had no idea about the song!! :) I love it!

We have been using battery operated candles on timers as well! So convenient! We like to have soups and stews with crusty rolls for dinners during the winter. We also drink decaffeinated tea at night after dinner. Lots of blankets, books, and calming music too. :) So basically everything that Laura said! lol. We like to add a pleasant smell to our home too with simmering pots on the back of the stove!

Karen :)

To quote one of my past preschoolers “Not one of those Karens, but a good Karen”! Haha

Timer battery candles, now there is an idea! And decaf tea!

We craft stuff in the run up to the holidays and use what we don't give away-- candles, bath bombs, and seasonal scented soap (Frankincense and Myrrh).
I switch the sheets from cotton/linen to flannel and sometimes sneak a hot water bottle into hubby's and Fallon's spots on particularly cold nights. Sometimes Jens heats the spa and we hang out there for a bit after the kid falls asleep, star-gazing.
The InstantPot becomes a fixture on the counter, making "perpetual soups" that can slow cook for days, use a lot of leftovers, and simplify my meals while keeping them pretty healthy... No other takers in my family on this particular tradition, which is why they are going for days!
I'm trying to keep a puzzle on deck and a give myself more time to "DEAR" - Drop Everything and Read- in the dark evenings but usually forget and play catch up on sick days.

I love soft comfy socks, and the pellet stove going to take the chill off. And all the things y’all said , yummy soups, old movies and of course walks on the beach.

Hygge is a new word for me in the last year, and I love the fun song from the Frozen YT video. I agree with all of the above ideas,
plus I have to add a “ candlelit hot soaking bubble bath” to the list!

A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.

Oh the song! Thanks for sharing that Laura.
I think of warm fires, candles glowing, warm cups of tea or cocoa, good books, throw blanket and knitting or crochet. Anything that make home cozy!

Something cooking in the crockpot, comfort food, a warm drink and a project to work on in the late afternoon when it starts getting dark, flannel sheets, my old schleppy cardigan and setting the timer on the coffee pot each night so it’s ready when we wake up.

Debbie, popcorn and movies came to my mind also. Flannel jamas, fuzzy slippers, bread baking and tidying.

Oh I love all these! I bought a little fairy lit tree from Walmart (that Instagram told me I had to have). Even though we are taking Christmas down today, I'm going to keep that little tree up in my room for the rest of winter.
