I can only imagine how bad my writing would be LOL!
What signs of spring are popping up in your area? Here on my farm I've noticed the tulips popping out of the ground, the cardinals are singing very loudly in the morning (not sure if it's mating season or they're just happy), and the sun feels so wonderful even if the air is a bit chilly. |

| Daffodils and tulips are showing up and skunks must be out and around because the smell is all around. |

WOW! Spring has sprung in the west! Field work won't be happening around here for about a month yet. There's no sign of life on the fruit trees yet either.
Denise - the skunks are stinking it up around here too! I just never associated the smell with spring before LOL! |

It's terrible that smell. It seeps into the house so I know there's one hiding out somewhere around the area. We saw one along the road yesterday when we were coming home. I never smelled it this bad here before so never really associated it with spring. We lived in the woods in NJ and only ever knew there was one around once. He proudly marched past our picnic area while we were out there. No one actually knew it but a couple of us and the dogs weren't out so no issues. He went on his merry way. |

Sounds like there's a story there, Chris.
Denise - that's a little too close for comfort!
Unfortunately we smell them all the time and see them occasionally. We has some trouble a while back - they were killing our chickens :(

| They eat chickens?! I suppose chickens are a very fancy sort of "cat food"... |

We have neither of those delicacies. We only ever saw one skunk in the 30 years we lived on the place in NJ and we had chickens almost the whole time.
I'd like to figure out where they are hiding out. I'm sure it is somewhere near the house for it to smell a bit inside. |

They didn't really eat them, unfortunately they just attacked and killed them. They dug under the fence and would get in the pen and pull one out. I didn't know skunks would do that!!!
On a positive note - we got our first ice cream of the year today :) I fully intended to start off with blueberry cheesecake, but they had grasshopper pie sitting right next to it. What's a girl to do....Yup, get a split cup LOL! I wouldn't say they were the best together, but they were both wonderful :) |

| I'm not that creative when I make my own ice cream LOL! We have a couple different places that we stop at when we're in the area. The place we went to yesterday has 4 freezers that hold 8 flavors each. You walk down the line in front of them all to see what you want. I don't like their mint chocolate chip so I asked for a sample of the grasshopper pie before committing. It's mint ice cream with chopped up oreos. It was delicious! The blueberry cheesecake is vanilla ice cream with blueberry syrup swirled around and actual pieces of cheesecake mixed in. It's my favorite at that place. |

| Our local ice cream place just opened. We haven't been yet but I expect it won't be long. |

| Those sound delicious! I want to taster-spoon-collect all 31 flavors at BR, but in a way that isn't too obnoxious... I wonder if we could pull off something similar to Grasshopper with garden mint and ground up Thin Mint scout cookies, but even if we did, I don't think it would stay frozen if we tried to ship it to Ohio for y'all's super taster feedback, hehe. |

Hello Friends!
Hope everyone is doing great! I've been avoiding the computer again lately (that is an easy habit to fall back on). My friend and I have been invited to have a booth at a vintage barn sale up in East Texas in mid April. It's such a blessing to be invited as it's a really great event. If we do well, we will be invited back for the fall and Christmas shows in the fall. It's a little overwhelming - as it means (oh darn) that I have to spend more time thrifting and estate sale shopping. I am headed back up to East Texas this week for spring break to do some planning and shopping. We went to Canton last weekend and I found some fun treasure - I just love junking!
We are already hot and so dry here - but my sister and I did spot some bluebonnets popping out of a neighbor's lawn the other day when we were out on a walk.
And ice cream - oh how I could be ready for some of that! I love homemade ice cream - my sister makes a great mango sorbet!
Have a wonderful weekend Wildflowers!

| Just checking in on everyone today. Laura your new venture sounds exciting, I wish you the best! We are having beautiful weather here on the coast of SC. Sunny and mid 70’s. I’ve heard there were some bad storms around the country, so would love to hear how things are going where you are located. Don’t forget to spring forward one hour this evening, just a friendly reminder. Have a wonderful Sunday! |
