| The intermediate level of the bibliophile badge says to join or start a book club and to issue a challenge to your fellow bibliophiles. To keep this simple if you'd like to join the Wildflower book club here's my challenge: Read a book and let us know what you think! If you're crazy busy, start a book and let us know what you think as you're reading it. That's it. For those that join and complete the challenge there will be prizes (just know that they will be little prizes as my budget is a bit tight right now lol!) |

| I'll start with the last book I finished: Melania. Honestly, I thought it was terrible! I was looking forward to reading a book by a First Lady. I thought there would be all kinds of interesting stories about her work, travels, etc. Instead I found myself wondering if she really is so shallow. In the book it seems that Melania's proudest accomplishment is updating the White House. She also doesn't seem to have a very good relationship with her husband. She says in the book that she doesn't have room for untruths and drama in her life. I'm pretty sure Donald Trump is one of the most drama loving people around! It doesn't seem as thought they're on the same page about anything. I found nothing inspiring about her or her life from the book. It really was a disappointment! |

I just finished reading The Butterfly Sisters by Jenny Hale. I have been trying to think of adjectives to describe the story...so far....Nice? Okay? It was one of those stories that you didn't have to think about, didn't have any surprises, was just ok. It seemed like a good story for a Hallmark movie..haha!
I had a really good book in mind to suggest for the book club and when I can remember what it was, I will post it!!! haha |

Sometimes those kind of books are the best way to just relax!
I'm enjoying the Audrey Hepburn book, but so far it's really more about her mom. I'm about 1/2 way through so maybe there will be more about Audrey in the last half. |

I am jumping in - with a book I am about to start - The Correspondent by Virginia Evans. My sister is almost finished with it and I plan to take it with me to East Texas this week. She is loving it so I hope to have something positive to report.
A recommendation (if I haven't already shared it because I love therse books this much!) - The Unselected Journals of Emma M Lion by Beth Brower. So far there are 8 volumes. I am about to start listening to the 7th in the car tomorrow - can't wait! The Audible narrator is amazing and I just love the characters. I've got my dad hooked (he's already listened to all 8) and my sister just read the first three.
For Christmas I gave all my little family books and challenged them to read more this year. I've been keeping track on Goodreads - I am at 14 books so far in 2026. (I think I am Laura Knippers there if you'd like to be friends.)

Late to the party, but I love this!
Ty for saving my time on Melania, Heather. Unselected Journals is on my TBR thanks to Laura.
Legends and Lattes-- cozy Hallmark storyline set in a fantasy world of orc mercenaries... But this one is retiring and setting up a coffee shop. Left me feeling kind of like I watched a Gilmore Girls episode: everything will be OK. I moved on to the next in the trilogy (Bookshops and Bone dust).
Solito-- polar opposite. Memoir of a 9 year old Guatemalan kid who crossed US border to reunite with his parents. I learned a lot about differences in Spanish slang between regions and some of the characters restored my hope in humanity.

Oh I just finished Brigands and Breadknives - third in the Legends and Lattes series. Wasn't quite what I was expecting story line wise but enjoyed it a lot! So far I have enjoyed all three books.
