Karen - I just received my sweet 2026 calendar in the mail today! Truly feeling blessed with Farmgirl Happy Mail! I have come to love the little calendars you make for us and I'm thrilled to add it to my desk. Your creativity always inspires me.
I also received another awesome Not-so-secret Sister package from April while I was away. Loving our little community!
So I guess I'll add we are blessed with the best Mother Hen - thanks for keeping us all gathered together Debbie - a blessing indeed. |

| Blessed with an abundance of stickers and crafting supplies today. The teachers are having an in-service day. To break up a long home school day and work through our stash, we are testing out sticker currency earned for reading books and finishing math and language arts assignments and redeemed for prizes of mashed potatoes, movie time, and pool access. |

I wish I could cash in some sticker currency LOL! Although the pool access would be more of an ice bath right now :)
Today I'm feeling blessed that the wind died down enough to allow me to sleep last night. |

Yeah, I was dubious about the pool, but here we are, 2 days short of spring and the AC struggling to keep up with us under another heat advisory... Sweet wind-free dreams, Heather!
Today, I am elated that all the hummingbird nectary plants I picked up at the nursery have bloomed-- so many purpley blue flowers around the purpley-blue house, that the early sunflowers along the sidewalk that a passerby harvested have already set extra buds, and that the local honey vendor sells beeswax for candles so we can finish out that candle-making badge (someday). |

Someone seriously took your sunflowers?!? What is wrong with people....So happy your bird butt showed up LOL!
Today I'm blessed that my tulips and daffodils are looking like they survived the freeze. They looked pretty bad when they were frozen! I might get some blooms after all. |

Speaking of, as a kid, I remember presenting my mom with a bouquet of tulip/daffodil "wildflowers" I had found rambling around my suburban neighborhood unsupervised. Now I realize someone carefully planted those bulbs and probably felt the same way then as I do now about the sunnies... Although I would have had to be a super-tall kid to reach 6' up... Either way, I'm chalking it up to karma!
As near as I can figure, Debbie K., my mini husky knocked the "bird butt" into an open pillowcase full of fabric scraps next to the puzzle/sewing table since that particular surface has the best view of the driveway and the return of his people. It wasn't until Fallon got an itch to craft and dumped everything in the sack on the floor that it reappeared. So helpful!
Today her painted lady butterflies are emerging from their chrysalides so that has been our wonderful blessing on this first day of spring. Happy equinox!

| I am grateful for sprinklers/irrigators on timers. We don't have much of a veg garden/orchard on our urban lot, but we wouldn't have any if hubby hadn't spent a couple weekends running PVC and putting in post irrigators and bubblers. Our pole beans are taking off-- they gain almost as much ground as the morning glories at this point. Some even "over wintered" from last year and I am so glad I was too lazy to declutter them when I thought they were done. |

| I'm grateful that the Tomato Festival at a plant nursery I'd never been to but meant to visit was so fun and welcoming. Bee activity books for my scouts! Plus 4" pots of almost all the rare black/purple smoky varieties on my "bucket list" so we can grow them, taste them, and see how they do this summer. Do any of you grow tomatoes? Any favorite varieties? |

I'm grateful for technology. Yesterday I was able to watch my little niece and nephew in Michigan at their dance competition. Gordy is 5 and it was his first time on stage. Janice has been doing it for 3 years now and has a solo. Without live streams I wouldn't be able to see them since they're so far away.
Chris - I grow way too many tomatoes, but I don't like raw tomatoes so I can't tell you what are the best ones. If it wasn't for sharing a garden with my in laws I would only plant 2 paste tomatoes and be good! I believe one of my mother in laws favorites was the Cherokee tomato. It's a purple one. |

I have a patio garden so small but I do grow Big Beefsteak Tomatoes every year, nothing fancy. And they are perfect Big and Juicy. I will pick them off the vine and eat them whole. I love them.
My Nephew and Neice are at the hospital now having my next great nephew, Howie. If Howie has not arrived yet it will be anytime. I cannot wait for his arrival. They live in San Diego so we will not meet him for a couple of months and his big brother Wally, who we miss too so much. Hopefully we will have pictures sometime tomorrow. Such a big Blessing and we are so thankful. |

Welcome, Howie! I hope they can use some of Heather's technology to let you meet him virtually even sooner. Big Beefsteak was what Jens lunged for; I hunted everywhere for Cherokee but couldn't find it this year. Now that you all mention it, most of our tomato consumption is in paste on pizza or canned for salsa, so maybe if I figure canning out, I'll switch the lineup.
Today's blessing was that when I went to cancel the Magnolia subscription I never asked for (a decreasing waste initiative merit badge) they mailed me a refund for the unsent issues! |

Happy Birthday Howie! Can't wait to pictures, Debbie.
I'm blessed that the only damage from last night's 1.25" hail was on a tarp that was already going to be replaced this spring anyway. It sure sounded like we were going to have major damage when it was falling! |

So happy you did not have more damage Heather. Howie has not made his presence yet hopefully soon. We have had no update yet. Yes, Chris the Zooming will be great to see Howie the first time. We have Zoomed with Wally every month since he has l been four or five months old. In fact he got to know Aunt Debbie so well through Zoom that when they got off the plane for their first visit and he saw me he held his arms out for me to hold him. I cried like a baby it made my heart feel so good. Now thats a Blessing!
