For many summer is not over by a long shot. But in a little over a week we will no longer be in the dog days of summer. I always look forward to August. Though it is still rather a warm month here, as is September it seems like a segway month into new things. School starts in two weeks here. I don't think I'll ever get used to school starting in August. We always started the Wednesday after Labor day and ended the middle of June depending on how many snow days we had to make up. But I understand why here and the southern states do it due to the heat in June. I hope everyone enjoys this month no matter where you are or what you are doing.

No winding down here yet -- we are smack in the middle of summer; in the 100s this week. We had a fairly mild (for us) July but August hit with a bang. I read that this is Read a Romance month so maybe I'll find one and sit in front of the a/c and read.
I find the new school schedules strange too. We always ended in June and started back the day after Labor day. Now it seems like each town is different.

August brought rain and storms with it for us. Hoping that means we will have some cooler temps. Getting the crafting mood. Still working on my cross stitch as well as a few other things.

In 100s all week here, too. UGH! And no rain, that we can really need.

You lucky people that get rain in the summer. We won't see any until probably November. Trying to keep plants watered is a chore; my chard is already fried. Our watering days are Sunday and Wednesday.
