Has anyone seen the Hobbit movie. It was good.
I am reading the book written for the movie, It is good too, it is called The Hobbit, The Enchanting Prelude to the Lord of the Rings.
It is all one book but there are supposed to be 3 movies and the first movie was right with the book as I had read it before the movie. I hadn't realized it wasn't the original Hobbit. But as I said it is really pretty good.
I am not a big Sci Fi reader but I do like this one.
Just thought I would ask.

The Hobbit was written in the 1920s and Lord of the Rings in the 1950s.
The movies are based on the original Tolkien books.
The Hobbit is being done in trilogy form as the Lord of the Rings was.
Why do I know this??? Lol!! My grown kids huge fans of the books and were soooo excited when someone, Peter Jackson, got brave enough to attempt these adored classics to film!

I love the films!! Not being a huge sy fi fan it took me a bit to get on board.....but when I did? Found the movies to be incredible!!

I know exactly what you mean, I can hardly wait until the next one comes out and like I said the book is right on. I love it. I love all the movies. The last Lord of the Rings one is so long I almost wasn't able to sit through the whole movie.

I just saw this post. I love the Lord of the Rings books and The Hobbit. They are some of my favorite stories. I didn't read the books until after I saw The Lord of the Rings movies. I started with The Hobbit and read all the way through. I really liked The Hobbit movie and I'm looking forward to the next two. I can't wait.

I wish they could show the movie sooner. I read the whole Hobbit movie book and I did not particularly like the end but realize it had to end that way to be able to work into the rest of the movies.
They need to hurry up.

I can't wait either, Darlene! I do think so far the movie is fairly close to the original book on major points anyway. I am hoping it stays that way. I'll have to take a peek at the movie book to see how different it is. Peter Jackson didn't do too badly in keeping with the Lord of the Rings books, there were a couple things that were very different and kind of bugged me, but overall he kept it very close.

The first movie of the movie book was right with the book, It was good. They probably will all be right with the book, it just ended like it should of but it was left undone even though it wasn't.
