I guess I will have to quit saying this is our last new member.
This wonderful farmgirl sister will not be virtual as a member only through letters and cards as she lives mostly off grid in upper state New York on an old Homestead.
So, lets give a warm Scattered Prairie Gal Welcome to Michele Preston aka batznthebelfry, we will have to send cards of welcome as she does not have a computer of course.
She is enjoying life on the homestead but her and her animals (chickens, cats) do get lonely so she loves farmgirl mail.
Julie aka treelady and I will keep her up to date on the cackling and things going on in the Hen House. She loves to write letters so do not be surprised if you get a letter from her.
She is a great friend and farmgirl sister to me and a lot of farmgirls so lets help to keep her happy and from getting lonely until she heads back home to her old life next year in Athol, Mass. That is all I will share of Michele as I want her to share her life with you. What is like to live alone off grid for over a year and about the book she is writing of her experience.
Her welcome to the Hen House Packet will go out next week. I am posting her address here and then will send it to all of your emails.

Michele Preston
130 Napper Rd.
Westport, NY 12993

Thanks chicks for being so special and caring.

Luv Ya,
Mama Hen

about her story myself.

I won't be able to get a card out to her right away because everything is over flowing on my plate but I will get one to her when I can.
I think it is so wonderful that she is in our little hen house!

I got a letter from Michele! What an awesome life this lady has! There seems to be nothing she cant do!! I'm am in such awe of this amazing lady! The farm is 471 acres, she is on one side, she calls MR. GRUMPY the man who rents the other side for milk cows. She quilts, makes her on soap, jewelry. she is also a teacher! and has taught in Ghana, West Africa! I felt as if I were reading a novel, reading her letter! She is working so hard right now! OMG! She is 4 hours away from her home in Massachusetts and her Hubby is Army reserve and was in Afghanstan. She has no car and goes shopping once a month with 79 year old Emily, who owned the farm for 30 years and she said she is a HOOT! She loves Mary Janes Farm and all the hens she loves keeping in touch! If you have not contacted this lady, you are so missing a wonderful experience just reading her letters!! I am going to re-read it again and what beautiful handwriting!!

Connie...wow, she sounds like a fascinating person. Hope I get a letter back soon. I love getting to share life with other
awesome, strong women. She sounds just delightful. Thanks for sharing a bit more about her. I will try to do the same once
I hear back from her.

Hugs,
Peggy

Hi My Sister Hennies....I got a letter from Michele today too. She seems like a really incredible woman and farmsister.
I don't think I could do what she is doing...living on her friends retirement farm to help them out...while she also
writes two books and does improvements on the property...and she is married and 4 hours away from her husband. I would
get way too lonely without my man. And living next to Mr. Grumps as she calls him doesn't sound like a good trade-off. LOL

That is one thing though that I love about ALL My Farm Sisters, We all have our own amazing story to share with each other.

I love writing real letters...even more than typing on my computer...so it is nice to have Michele to send snail mail to.

Hugs and Loves,
Peggy
