Hey everone,
I just wanted to let you know that Shannon (hudsonsinaf) will be joining this wonderful henhouse!
I have sent the e-mail to Brian and as soon as he does his computer magic, Shannon will be able to introduce herself on our forum.
Let us all give Shannon a big welcome! Yahoooooo! |

| Hi everyone! Thank you for the welcome! I am so looking forward to jumping right in! Hmmm introducing myself... what should I say??? I am a stay at home, homeschooling momma of six, with one on the way. Hubby and I have been married for 13 years - he's active duty Air Force. Right now we have a garden and a few chickens. We dream of a homestead once he retires. I love to craft, sew, bake, can, dehydrate, basically anything and everything domestic except cleaning, lol. |

Well, hello to the Henhouse farmgirls. I am another new girl to your group and so happy that Carole asked me to join all of you. I live in northeast Missouri and live in a rural farming community. We live on three acres, partly wooded, pond, large garden areas, and also flower beds, and an orchard. Oh yes, we do have a shed and house with garage also. I live in this "wonderest" place with my husband, Roy, and our three doxies (who are getting old in years), and my wonderful foxhound, age 3, Daisy Mae Foxhound.
Daisy is my glamping partner and bff. We like walking together, sharing a oversized recliner together while I read or knit and she sleeps, and also sharing oreos which we both seem to have a great passion for.
I have many hobbies: gardening, flowers, a wonderful potato patch each year, glamping, reading, oil painting, photography, cooking and bread baking, plus my great passions for quilting and knitting. I put knitting last as it is really my first passion. I have knit since I was 12 and most often every day. I am now soon to be 67 and still knit happily daily. I belong to a local knitting circle in Hannibal, Missouri. We meet weekly at a nice coffee shop.
Another thing I like to do is be outdoors and I am so glad my hobbies, or some of them, allow me to do this. I have a pool so can swim at home in good weather. During winter months I belong to the YMCA and go there two times a week for swimming laps. I also do yoga with a group of wonderful women twice a week.
I am blessed to belong to a good church, a good community, and a good family. I also am blessed with good friends. I also feel blessed to have found MaryJaneFarms Magazine, and all that followed, from my glamping, to blogging, to sisterhood and patches. |

Katie,
Welcome to the Scattered Prairie Henhouse! It's wonderful to have you here. Wow, you have quite the hobby list! I think you may be our first Glamping farmgal!
We enjoy reading about our members adventures. Don't be shy, start a new topic or post on the monthly porch/wood stove chat and allow us to enjoy your adventures via the forum!
I would agree with you regarding a good church, community, family and friends, certainly a necessity to a good life. I think you will feel right at home here. Lots of wonderful farmgals. Very giving.
Thank you for taking the time to tell us about you. |

| Thank you ladies :) Let me further explain what I wrote, as it sounds more impressive than it is... I have 6 children with a 7th on the way. Only four of the kids are formerly schooled. The other two are too young. As for having time.... Crafts are my decompression, lol. Canning and dehydrating, as well as cooking and many times sewing, are musts. |
