| The pilot announced if they looked out the windows they could see the lights of London and to buckle their seatbelts for the landing. Amanda struggled with her seat belt and without a word the man with the engaging smile buckled it for her before returning to his seat. Where had he come from? She hadn't realized he was anywhere near her. She felt protected with him so close to her. She knew in her heart of hearts she could trust him. |

| How sweet of him to do that, well she could hardly wait to get out of the plane and get back on the ground. She thought she should tell him thank you. Maybe have coffee with him. Maybe she was being too forward, well she would wait and see. |

The plane landed and Amanda gathered her things and waited her turn to leave the plane. At the door she stumbled and someone grabbed her by her elbow keeping her from falling. She turned her head to see the smiling man smiling down at her. Come along Amanda friends are waiting and at the door stood the elderly gentleman and younger man. The elderly man extended his hand and said "It's time we met formerly. I'll Sir Henry J. Britt I and this is my grandson Henry J. Britt III." Turning to the smiling man he added "may I introduce my daughter's son Bronson Henry Smith."
Now she knew for sure who Britt - Britt - & Smith were but why they were interested in her was still a mystery. |

| As they walked they were joined by another man in a chauffer's uniform who addressed Sir Henry J. Britt "I've gotten all the bags sir", casting an eye at Amanda, "Right this way." Sir Henry said "The lady will be joining us" and turning to Amanda added "Please dear take me up my sincere invitation. We have much to discuss." |

Now Amanda was a bit worried, and somewhat apprehensive. What could these men have to discuss with me? Why did they have to wait until we got to London to talk with me? Should I try to get the attention of a police officer instead of going with them? Will I be safe?

Amanda's curiosity got the best of her and besides she always wanted to have an adventure like the ones she read about in novels. And this was her big chance to play the heroine in her own adventure so in the silver Rolls' Royce she got. It was much larger than it looked from the outside. She sat next to Sir Henry facing forward and Henry III and Bronson were in the seat facing them.
As they drove off Sir Henry said "I'm here on the behalf of your great Aunt Laura Amanda". "I don't have a great aunt Laura Amanda." She said.
"Yes you do well you did my Dear." He said. "There was a family scandal and she was exiled from the America side of the family but not the British. She married Lord Hardcastle who when he passed on left her one of Britain's wealthiest women and you Amanda her namesake are her one and only heir." |

Amanda settle back and decided she was going to like London; and all the adventures she would have with her new found friends; and to top it all off she was now a very wealthy woman.
The End
Story telling of Amanda's adventures on hold until cooler weather in the fall. |
