Out here the weathermen call every potential sprinkle a storm :-)
And half the time when they predict one it doesn't happen.

For our area it was very hot today, unusual but pretty and went to town and got my sticker and insurance for my car so I will be able to start driving on the back roads soon, Doctors orders, back roads. Then came home and going down the road by our school in Loleta the Sherrif had the road blocked because they had a bomb threat there today. The Head custodian emailed me that he was pretty sure who put out the threat. Thank God there was nothing found. But everyone was evacuated from the school. I guess we wait to hear more.
So sad.

Gorgeous sunny day ... a bit windy ... perfect for sailing! It will be nice to see the Canadians back in our area after three years of Covid restrictions. They all have sailboats. They've been busy getting their boats ready.

Took a walk to the pharmacy, just gorgeous out! Enjoy the day!

Seems these last few days of Spring we get to enjoy some beautiful Spring temps in the 70s but then summer is riding in on the 90s for us. We've already had more hot days than I care to have and Spring started cold and rainy then heated right up. I miss where I grew up because it always seemed we had just the right temps for each season. Spring was cool and worked its way to warm in the summer, fall was beautiful with it's Indian summer thrown in winter was cold with snow at Christmas. You could always count on the season to each be there own. Now it's hard to tell what season it is, each day can be so drastically different.

Well summer hasn't quite gotten here and already I could do without the heat. Yesterday was gorgeous for fathers day. We sat on the deck for lunch at our dd's. The kids played after while we played cards. There was a nice gentle breeze and time went so fast. Today is supposed to reach 85 but it's heating up again after this. So thankful for ac.

After a hot day yesterday and a quick, strong storm last evening, today was gorgeous! I know it will heat up again but it is nice to enjoy it while we can.

101 today and pretty much the same for the next week and probably for the next 3 months too. Typical Central Valley summer weather.

Jennifer -

You live just outside of Yosemite National Forest. How close are the fires that are threatening the giant sequoia trees there? Please stay safe.

HOT! HOTTER!! HOTTEST!!!
EVERY DAY SINCE JUNE 1ST!
EVERY DAY IS OVER 100°!
TRY 104, 105, 111,...NOW IF IT WAS JUST HOT, WITHOUT HUMIDITY I THINK
IT MIGHT BE TOLLERABLE. WHERE OH WHERE IS THE HUMIDITY COMING FROM???
DO YOU REALIZE THAT WINTER BEFORE LAST TBEY TRIED TO FREEZE Texans TO DEATH. We showed them!
Now they are TRYING THEIR BEST TO ROAST US! When it is over, there may not be any beauty left. My roses will all die. My crepe Myrtle trees have turned orange as if it is autumn!
They are 25+ years old. Our pecan trees are losing their leaves. The ground is crunchy.
It is BAD. My son and his family spent several days in Wisconsin, visiting her family. They could not believe how parched and ugly the landscape was when they came home. And it only took one week.

Sadly the plants do not respond to watering, not the way they have in years past. I looked, at 10 pm it will still be 90°. My son and his crew get up at 3am and are at work with a big light by 4:30 with Temps in the 80s, then the 90s. Before they quit at noon. Tom
orrow it will be 98° by quitting time.

We have had some nice days. Such a change from last year when the heat indexes were in the 100s. We are staying in the mid to upper 80s till the weekend when the storms start. Last Sunday we had alerts come across for tornado warnings. We were headed out but headed for the basement instead. This week has been nice and warming up until the weekend. Going to have to water my tomatoes and peppers. They are in containers and they haven't done real well so I think next year we will be putting in a garden.

We have had upper 90s-low 100s for months now. We are being asked to limit our watering to 15 minutes twice a week. It's not enough and my yard is dying. My washing machine drains into a laundry sink so I may resort once more to scooping it out in buckets to water the roses and camellias in the front yard. Most people are letting the lawns go brown.

We are having some quite soggy weather for the next couple of weeks. Not sure where this was all summer. We did get rain through the summer but not like this.

On the chilly side this morning at 55 degrees. Love it though. I know it will be in the high 80s again on Monday but for today I am enjoying this weather of sunshine and breezes. Fall is in the air. Wish I could send some of this to you gals who are still having hotter Temps and humidity.

Woke to actually being chilly this morning, a little and looking forward to no a.c. for awhile. It was around 53 and supposed to only reach 66 today.

It looks like Florida might be in the path of a hurricane next week. It is currently in the lower part of the Gulf organizing and gathering strength. For the next 3-4 weeks we are in the peak of our hurricane season. Dreading it this storm hits the west coast and hikes up the center and hits us. Time will tell and anything is possible right now.

Winnie -- I sure do feel for you. I can't imagine living in the hurricane area. I'm thinking good thoughts that it stays far away from you.

We have had delightful weather the past week. No a/c needed and the windows and door open all day and night. 90s next week so it looks like summer isn't quite over yet. We actually had 1/10th of an inch of rain and the air smelled so good for a day.

I was wrong in my temp for this morning. It was 42 not 53.
My kids and brothers are watching the hurricane or tropical depression which ever is the case. They are on the gulf side.

Well, I guess you all already know the Hurricane is headed right up through the state and we are in the path! Depending on it's speed, we should be hit sometime late Wednesday night into Thursday morning. We had the same issue back in 2017 when a hurricane took the same path up through the state. We had no power for 7 days!! Hopefully that won't be a repeat occurrence but time will tell. I will let you know later this week when it is over and we know what happened around here.

Winnie -- I hope you are well stocked upon water, food, and candles. Do you have a nice safe basement or storm cellar? I have always thought that an underground house would be the way to go in hurricane and tornado country.

Winnie,
I contacted my brothers and daughter as they are in its path further south. My eldest brother left to attend a reunion anyway so he is good and my other brother and family are headed to their cabin in TN to ride it out. My daughter and family are opting to ride it out there. I told them I have extra bedrooms here. We will see. I am hoping and praying for everyone there to be safe.
