It really did give me a laugh! That is hilarious!!!!

Here's another funny story if you need another giggle:
When a cow is having trouble calving and everything is coming out correctly sometimes we have to help by pulling on the calf (there is a method to this and it's safe for the baby and mom). We have small metal chains that can be sanitized for doing this. One time a cow was having her baby in the pasture and needed a little help. Everything went fine and a healthy baby was born. Mama got up right away and took care of her baby - all was well. We were gathering our supplies to let them do their thing without us bothering them. My husband bent over to pick up the wet slimy chains that were just used to deliver a calf and didn't pay attention to where he was standing. As he bent over he put his rear end right on the electric fence! He was shocked to say the least LOL!

I found a wonderful surprise in one of the calf hutches this afternoon:

I don't know why I seem to have so much trouble uploading photos! I guess I'll just have to tell you - there are 4 tiny black and white kittens in my calf hutch. They're super cute!
Hopefully tomorrow I can upload so you can see. I also have a really cute picture of one of my cats and a daffodil that opened up today.

crossing my fingers and toes (not really, I can't get my toes crossed LOL!)

WOOO HOOO! It worked today!! Here's the baby kittens - 4 little black and white ones. The mamma kitty is not ours - she showed up last year and had 4 kittens and never left. She's not very friendly and only 1 of her kittens from last year is. I thought she might move them since I was taking their picture yesterday, but they're still there today. Hopefully she leaves them in there so when they're a bit older I can start petting them and making them friendly :)

Let's see if I can get another one uploaded:

At first she stuck her nose in the flower like she was smelling it, but I was too slow to get that picture. This one is still cute :)

I don't have time to upload pictures from my camera right now - it's almost milking time. But maybe tomorrow I'll show you the surprise that we had this morning. It wasn't as wonderful as the kittens LOL!

Oh those kittens are so cute I would love to have them all. Your cat too is so sweet with the daffodil, great photo.
Back to packing, I’m the kitchen now, have fun milking!

Here is the surprise from the other morning:

We were actually very blessed - look how close it was to the barn yet there was not even a scratch on the barn!

A couple more:

A few of our cows are starting to udder up! Won't be long before we have some calves. I'm excited. The babies are my favorite part of dairy farming :)

Been doing a lot of spring cleaning on the farm - power washing, painting, replacing some wall panels, etc. I think the parlor looks great. The cows say "you changed things suddenly. I don't like it!" And they don't want to come in for milking right now. We go through this every spring :)

No calves yet :( The kittens are getting big. Their eyes are open now. I'll have to get more pictures.

Our first cow is now overdue. No calves yet. It looks as though we should have 3 by this weekend.

I'm so excited - our first baby calf of the year was born about 4am this morning. It's a heifer. I'm also ticked off right now because my computer won't acknowledge my camera card so I can share her picture! I'll try again when I get back in tonight.
