I have been working on and collecting more merit badges and I wondered if anyone else in the henhouse has been working on them too? So far this year I have received 10 badges and I am working on my expert level Embroidery so I can apply for it soon as well as my beginner and intermediate for the Letter Writing badge. I've been enjoying getting them done. It seems in order to do things like this I need a challenge or deadline. It is the same for most of my crafts. I am such a procrastinator at times. But I have been getting these done!

I believe Karen has been working on them too. Anyone else?

It's been in the back of my mind to figure out what badges I can do. I have a folder of badges I've worked on but can't remember which ones I've submitted.

I too have a folder of badges that I have got through the years, but Karen has inspired me to work on the button one. I have all kinds of buttons and they seem to be everywhere. So it makes me want to get them organized. More useable.

I have about 8 badges I have dine in the past but need to get motivated to do more.

Laurie, your apron and knitted scarf turned out well. I remember making one of those scarves back in 2011 with my friend who used to live here. They were fun!

Well, I thought I had finished the Button Up merit badge, but I went through my Merit Badge file folder and discovered I had it partically written up but not submitted. In honor of this year's Jubilee theme, I am currently finishing up the Button Up merit badge and submitting all three levels of it. I am also going to try and submit all three levels for the Safe Toys, Knitting, Crocheting and Sew Wonderful badges. I thought I had already sent in the Knitting merit badge in 2016, but according to MJF I have not, so I will send in again. There are also several others in the Stitching and Crafting that I will work on.

My question on the Nellie Make-Do and Nellie Will-Do badges is: are the hours accumulative? Finish 25 hours for Beginner, an additional 25 hours for the Intermediate and another additional 50 hours for the Expert? Or is each level Additional hours? It does not take me 100 hours or 175 hours to finish many numerous projects. I am efficient and do not need that many hours to complete projects.
* For the Nellie Make-Do I have a huge box of denim jeans, a bolt of white denim, denim scraps, and some denim shirts that were given to me. I plan to use them to make aprons, vests, wristlets, and other items. I will use the selvage edges of fabric yardage that are normally thrown away and scraps of silk and sari fabrics to decorate these items.
* For the Nellie Will-Do there are numerous items that can be made.I can finish some additional hand and machine sewing items for this.

I have already completed 14 merit badge levels (I think these years are correct):
2015/16 Aprons - L1, L2, and L3
2022 Collect It - L1, L2, L3
2015 Farmgirl - Jubilee L1, L2
2016 Quilting - L1, L2, L3
2016 UFOs - L1, L2, L3

Wow Linda, you are rocking those badges. If I were you I would ask about the hours and see what they say. I'm not there yet but would love to know.

LOL! Thanks, Denise, but I earned those badges over 9 years, so I haven't done any in the last 2 years. When I can, I will work on these.

I think I have a good start on the Sew Wonderful, Crochet and Knitting projects. I have to see what I have done recently that will qualify.

I feel like I am not making much progress on my badges. I did get 2 more last week in cross stitching. Things have been busy and so my embroidery has been laid aside for a bit. Will try to get to that today again. I have good intentions it seems but then the busy-ness of getting things done around here happens so I don't get as much done as I'd like.

After the cruise I hope to get back on track. I need to write up the badges and add pictures. Maybe I can get some writeups done on the sea days - we have 9 of them in the first 16 days.

Thanks for the motivation, Denise! I haven't looked at my Merit Badge planner in quite a while. I enjoy working on badges & should look at doing some more again. I wanted to work on "Icing on the Cake" & "Out there women".

I recently completed the intermediate Candlemaking merit badge which was a lot of fun! I also finished the expert level Food Allergy Awareness Badge (and in the process of eliminating dairy for a week, I discovered a cashew cheese that is absolutely delicious!!).

When I packed up embroidery supplies to rehome I came across my completed badges, some embroidered and some not done yet. I think chocolate was on my list to do next as I came across the book for that one too.
