Happy May Day a bit late and Happy Jubilee weekend!! We have moved into summer like weather with temps near 90 the past 5-6 days. It came so quickly!!

We are leaving for a 10 day trip to Scotland on Wednesday and will return May 19. I will have my iPad with me but being able to respond much depends on time and wifi of the places we are going. It should be very interesting and looking forward to learning more.

Have a wonderful time in Scotland. Home of my mom. I want to go so bad to Scotland. But it just isn't in the cards. And yes, summer is here too. Take lots of pictures. Safe travels.

Happy Anniversary Denise! Have fun in Lancaster. I am hoping we can get to the Sight and Sound theater this year.

Winnie have a great trip! I went to Scotland many years ago. My aunt & uncle lived there for over 40 years and one of my cousins was born there. They lived near Glasgow and all of the museums were free there! It's a beautiful place and they are Very proud of their history!

Thanks Andrea!
We enjoyed our trip and the Story they did at Sight and sound was awesome. We are already making plans to go next year.
JT always likes to get something to commemorate the anniversary when we go to Lancaster. This year it was this.

I went to an estate sale Saturday because a friend called and said they had a lot of fabrics and sewing supplies. I went and while there called another quilting friend and she came over, too. I only bought 1 box of fabrics that included some finished blocks for a top and a quilt top for $3. Hollye bought more and some clothes. They also had free books and I got a couple from my favorite authors and a very neat book of vintage clothing. While I was there the man asked if I knew of a place where he could donate the fabrics and I said I was a member of a quilt guild. He said I could come over on Monday and take whatever was left to the guild for donation quilts.

Ed and I dropped by today and loaded up the CRV. Ed and I talked with the man and his wife for a while - the house was owned by his 04 year old aunt and she recently went into an assisted living home. When we were taking stuff out to the car he asked if I wanted the sewing machine table that was there - he gave it to me. It is one of those with the section that lowers for the nachine. WOW! I couldn't believe it. Ed did a great job of loading the car.

When Ed and I got home I started going through some of it, separating the quilting cottons from the clothing blends and other non-quilting fabrics. I still have more to do.

Ed has had pigmy goats before and they are a lot of fun to watch. If we weren't traveling so much he'd like to get some more goats, but he's need to add a lot more fencing to keep them contained in the pastures.

Linda what a great couple days for you! Lucky to get the table for free too and make some new acquaintances! I just had a friend from church give me a big bag of fabrics as she is going through her things and has more for me as she goes through it. I just went through all of my own so it will be easy to sort through and add what I need and pass the rest along.

I love goats. We used to have them when we lived in the country. I sure could use one or two for the house we got for my daughter across the street -- the large backyard is knee deep in weeds.
Linda -- Sounds like it was a good time to go to an estate sale! You got lucky for sure.

I had a miniature dwarf goat when I was still living at home. His name was Max.

I am back home from Scotland and finally catching up on some the time changes. Getting your days and nights back to normal gets harder and harder as I age. Anyway, we had a nice trip, but it had it frustrations. Scotland is a beautiful country and full of hundreds of years of history! It is good to be home again!!

I forgot to add that my daughter raises LaMancha dairy goats at her little homestead. It is a hobby as she has a full time job, but she loves goats and enjoys breeding them, showing them, and making delicious soft goat cheese which a group of her friends buy from her. She has been doing goats since she was 15 and got involved with a local 4-H club.

Ed and I love the pygmy goats. He has been talking about getting some for his farm again, but we travel so much and he would have to do all new fencing to keep them in, so it is on the back burner right now.
