Those are both terrifying! But I can scuba dive and want to visit a (dry land) decompression chamber to see what getting narc'ed is like in a controlled environment so I will be able to recognize it if I am diving too deep and get back to a safer dive profile. Maybe a submarine could create a similar experience if you tweak the gas mixes? Does it use less fuel than a space ship? How many carbon offsets are we talking about?
Wow, Denise, did the Pearl Harbor tour have windows or ways to see what you were passing through? That would be fascinating. |

Mama hen - you are one brave lady :)
Chris - that sounds scary to me, but I can see where it would be a good experience for you. As for the fuel and carbon stuff - I have no idea, but I imagine it's a number far larger than is good for the atmosphere!!!
Would you rather build a sand castle or a snowman? For me it's a snowman (and of course a hot chocolate afterwards!!!) |

For me it’s a Sand Castle as I want to be on the beach near the Ocean all the time. |

Chris, Naval submarines do not have windows. It wasn't a tour. We just flew to Maui, met up with our husbands and went back to the base at Pearl Harbor. We were stationed in Hawaii for 3 years.
There is a machine they use to create air to make it breathable and they pump the CO2 overboard. This keeps the pressure at 1 atmospheric and is the same as we breathe each day. The submarine uses uranium as fuel and will go 20 years without refueling. They use sonar to figure out where they are. |

I love the beach and I love the snow so this is a hard choice but this cold weather gal will have to go with the snowman! |

Denise, I'm glad they didn't keep you down there until it needed to refuel! 3 years in Hawaii sounds like an awesome arrangement though.
Sandcastles for me, I like architecture and keeping an eye on the tide. What was that word of the day about loving cold weather? Not for me! |
