| I love that advice Debbie. I haven't seen any ladybugs this year. Maybe the heat has something to do with it? But we are in for a week of mid 70s to low 80s starting today so I am going to get out to do some weeding. Maybe I'll see if any have taken up residence in the flower garden. |

No luck on seeing any ladybugs here. Does anyone remember this little poem?
Ladybug, ladybug, fly away home,
Your house is on fire, your children all gone.
All but one, and her name is Ann,
And she crept under the frying pan.
The rhyme is often associated with folklore about ladybugs and their supposed role in protecting crops. One theory is that it originated with farmers who would burn fields after the harvest, reciting the rhyme to warn ladybugs to fly away before the fire. |

| No sign of Ann over here either, but probably for the best. Today I experimented with baking bread on the stove in a dutch oven (overturned cast iron fry pan serves as the top) and let's just say it got pretty smoky in there... |

Thank you Wildflowers for participating in my Lady Bug Thread. Its been fun and I have learned a lot.
Congratulations Chris, I drew your name out of my Mama Hen hat. I will be mailing your little Lady Bug package next week.
Within the next couple of weeks I will be highlighting another creature that lives among us at well. It is one of my most favorite animals and they are very misunderstood I believe. So stay tune. |

Debbie! Your care package arrived full of treasures! The mascot has already been christened Lady and introduced to the rest of the gang. The sticker has found a prime spot on the water bottle and Fallon is hard at work with the coloring book. How on earth did you make a greeting card to match its cover? I love the scalloped design around the card edge, this is way better than whatever "perfect" card went missing. We can't wait to test the bag out at the grocery store later today sporting her Girl Scout swaps hat which now has a new beautiful pin. So fun! You are the best! Thank you for having us in your flock! |
