Oh how I love books and to me you can never have too many. I have stacks of book all through the house, you see I never want to be without a book to read. And I love the variety and genres I have. My obsession and/or addiction I guess and I never stop looking for another great book. You see I have far away friends and my books are my friends when I am lonely or sad. And I love to share books with my friends near and far, so you see I need many.

Thank goodness my people are just like me, hubby always tells me I have too many books but it is possible he has as many as I do. So, life is good.
Just random thoughts Wildflowers, it is Monday after all. Have a great one.

Big Hugs,
Debbie

The computer gnomes ran off with my post, so I apologize in advance if it shows up later and looks like I posted twice.

I agree Debbie - books are a wonderful thing! I try to pass on most of mine and only keep my favorites to reread. But I do have way more than one stack of TBR books :)

I don't believe anyone can have too many books. One may not have enough bookshelves but never too many books.
We have books in every room of our home.

I’m right there with you all, and you’re correct Denise when you say, not enough book “shelves”.

Denise's signature checks out! :)

My people! We have a wonderful library/inter-library loan system so I can catch and release most of the titles that interest me, and still the shelves groan with the books I love so much that I want to keep for reference or heavily annotate the margins.

Has anyone shopped through abebooks.com? I discovered it when we traveled because I could hunt through local book shop rare/collectible titles and plan what to bring home as souvenirs. Now we don't travel as much, but I love that I can usually find hardcover pristine copies for a fraction of what I would pay Amazon for the flimsier, less satisfying paperback or kindle edition.

Much to my families dismay who needs more bookcases when all you have is filled, I make piles by the bed, chairs wherever space extra space is:D

Yes, I found Abebooks a few years back. It is a good source for rare books or maybe books you can not find anywhere else. It is a good source. And I keep favorites to reread again and again. I do have quite a few I would never part with. And of course when My People gift me books for my birthday or Christmas I will not part with those either.

Thats me, I'm a book whore. And, a tea whore. Oh gosh, and probably a paper whore, too. I have books stacked up on my nightstand, beside my nightstand, the corner of my room, not to mention my book case, the living room with magazines, cookbooks, the family room too. My armoire in the laundry room. My tea pantry is overflowing... and I just love it all. Don't get me started on paper, stationary, junk journals, vintage papers, epherema... Even my oldest son will say, look mom, there's the paper aisle! Books, tea, and paper OH MY!! Giggle!

April, you sound a lot like me! Tea, paper, and books galore. Ours are overflowing on the shelves that are stacked 2 deep. And they're everywhere. I do contain most of my paper to the craft room for junk journal making and card making.

I've tried numerous times to read more methodically so I can read the book and decide if I want to keep them or get rid of them, but I never get around to getting rid of any.

I just found thrift books! I was looking for some sewing books that my daughter had when she was small to use with my granddaughter. They had them!!!

Thanks, April! Bookmarking Thriftbooks!

I'm a stationery junkie in recovery as well-- anyone else worry their handwriting is too illegible for such beautiful paper? So now my shelf full of "too nice to use" journals is bookended with a bunch of calligraphy and hand-lettering books I haven't gotten around to working through and I'm reaching for plain printer paper, post-it notes and index cards.

Christine - where do you get all your pretty stationary? I'd love to have a stash of it for penpal letters. I do the same thing with yarn and fabric - save it for a project worthy of the yarn or fabric. Problem is I wind up never using it!

Wanda Sue - I think we'd need season passes. A week wouldn't be long enough :)

Christine, all beautiful stationary is worthy of all handwriting! All beautiful journals are worthy! Do not save them for a perfect day or time, NOW is the perfect day and time! xo

Debbie, Count me in on the party bus!! xo

Heather, I love to take any paper I have, copy paper, notebook paper, old and dip it coffee, bake it at 300 degrees until just dry, make a vintage coffee stained beautiful paper, I also love to tack a bit of lace or a ribbon in corners. Don't need to search for pretty stationary when you can make your own!! xo

Heather, I don't have a single favorite paper supplier-- it is usually some little nick knack that bumps my online purchase over the free shipping minimum, that I come across in a museum gift shop or postcards while traveling. I'll have to check out Karen's suggestion of Current as well if I do get around to needing a restock. I love April's idea of DIY paper too, that sounds beautiful. Has anyone had any luck with plantable paper? I was researching how to make it and realized none of the paper I received and stuck in a pot sprouted much of anything...

Current is a wonderful place to order cards, stationary, address labels and many other things. Karen I have also ordered from them since my teens. They were around way before Amazon and still going strong!

Thanks April! Making paper sounds wonderful. I'm going to have to write that down and try it soon.

Thanks Karen and Wanda Sue - I requested a catalog from current. As a teen I was into Lisa Frank paper and stickers and pencils. I'm not sure it's still around.
