4th of July one of my most favorite holidays. We will miss the fireworks this year but, I am thinking of our sweet Bella girl. We will stay home with her and our Neice Erin is coming over and we can watch fireworks on tv. Bella is somewhat deaf so we will keep the sound down but still be able to enjoy them.
We will grill hot dogs and hamburgers and we will play lawn games. We have Corn Hole, horse shoes and Bocce Ball. We told Erin that we have never played and she says, “Don’t Worry I can teach you, I took it in College”! Say what? Oh well we will have fun but probably lose as she took it in college!
What will all of you be doing to celebrate?
Happy 4th of July Wildflowers, Enjoy and have fun.

The Rules.

Oh look a little bit different rules, what fun!

Big Hugs,
Debbie

We will be home as the kids and grands are out of town for the weekend. But we are grilling burgers and hot dogs. JT wanted to go to the movies but what we planned to see is no longer at the theaters. We will probably do some weeding this morning while it is cooler. We don't have to leave home for fireworks. We can watch them out our front window. I'm not sure where they set them off but last year we could see them over our neighbor's house. They have been setting them off all week.

Our neighborhood is having a golfcart parade at 11:00, then at 1:00 a BBQ and fried chicken potluck where everyone else brings sides and desserts.
There will be fireworks at the Marshwalk tonight, but not sure we will go to that yet. Happy Independence Day everyone!!

In a few minutes, I am meeting with the triathlon club for 2 hours of hilly biking. Fallon and Jens picked up sparklers for the evening. Our neighborhood usually goes All Out with a lot illegal fireworks from Mexico. The police and firetrucks do what they can to confiscate them in the run up but give up on enforcement today because they say crazies point their mortars at the firetrucks. We climb up on the widow's walk of our roof for 360* view of explosions and hope our old Victorian doesn't burn down.

It turned out to be more of a "widower's walk" this year as I stayed downstairs carrying a very skittish dog in law we are pet sitting around in a sling. Hope Bella's 4th was a bit less traumatic.

And yes! The Vic didn't burn down this year. Mama hen thought y'all might be curious to see it-- we bought it grey but repainted it like "the ladies" in San Francisco.

Oh I just love the house. I was hoping you painted it the colors it is now. The color is perfect! Thank you for sharing Chris.

Love your house, Chris! :) It’s a beauty. And can you imagine the stories the walls could share!! :)

Thank you! If these walls could share, indeed! We found an empty crate in the root cellar signed by the first owner/builder with "To be destroyed in the event of my death" penciled onto the lid and always wondered what was in there.

What a beautiful house! And what a mysterious crate!!!! I can't get over how many fireworks people are doing around you. I'd be genuinely concerned about my house as well. I'm blessed to live out in the country and have never had to worry about the neighbors doing fireworks like that. My biggest concern is that the cows will be spooked and break the fence or someone will be intoxicated and miss the 90 degree curve and end up in our cow pasture (happened more than once)!
