Posted - Jul 09 2008 : 2:34:33 PM Just came back from the Farmer's Market in town and someone had huckleberries for sale. It look like less than a cup for $3. These are probably from lower elevations. Talk to someone who was up higher and they were still green. She said looked bigger than usual. Easier picking. JoAnn |

Posted - Jul 06 2008 : 3:31:28 PM Hmmm...well, I wonder where I can find a bumper crop in my area so I can make a bunch of jam? I'll have to scout out the farmers' markets, I guess. Thanks for the heads-up, JoAnn.

Posted - Jul 06 2008 : 3:13:40 PM Many people have tried growing huckleberries in their home gardens and have failed. You cannot successful transplant them and to my knowledge no cultivated variety has been developed. Gotta do it the old fashioned way and harvest them in the wild. JoAnn |
