A couple of years ago Alee recommended a fabulous nursery on this forum, Fiddler's Ridge in Potlatch, ID and I immediately had to check it out. Well, today was a mental health day from work that I was going to spend working in the garden but it is pouring down rain so I decided to drive over to Potlatch to get my tomatoes. It is about 40 miles and I don't make it over there very often as it isn't on the way to anywhere else I go, but it is so worth it. I got a full flat of 18 tomato starts for $22 - and they are huge, such a beautiful place and nice people, if you are in the area it is well worth checking out.

My lilacs did bloom but I'm still waiting on the peonies. If It's going to rain the rest of the week, I'd bet get mine planted to then. Bye

Too true Marcia - I'm debating whether to put my tomatoes and peppers in today but I checked the national weather service and it is supposed to rain the rest of the week so I guess today is it. My lilacs still haven't bloomed all the way, nor have my peonies. Very cool and wet!

They all sound good. I found a cherry tomato called Chocolate Cherry this year. Can hardly wait. Everything's a challenge this year, I think. It's been so cold and windy and wet. I haven't planted my tomatoes or peppers yet but I'm thinking maybe today(Sunday). We planted the plants at the community garden yesterday.

I tried a bunch of different ones - Roma, a French beefsteak variety, about 5 different cold-hardy types, some yellow cherries and Stupice.
I'm really hoping the cold-hardy ones work, we are in a weird little cold pocket in Rosalia - the lady at the nursery was familiar with it - so tomatoes are challenging.

I've driven by that nursery(on my way to quilt retreats at Palouse Divide Lodge) and it looks like such a nice place. I'll have to stop next time. What kind did you get?

Great job! sounds like my local green house. by the time they closed for the summer they knew us by name...lol.
