Seems I was asking about these last year at this time~~ Mine are growing beautifully, budding and are so huge they are starting to bury my Knockout rose, what would you gals do, stake them, pull a few out around the rose, or what??!! I'm thinking I should try to stake them, even though they are about as tall as I am, what are your thoughts on this??

Melody, I think I might worry, did a bing search after I posted this and came up with a queston and answer site, many complained of the leaves being lacy looking and the responder advised they probably had some sort of bug, or fungus. Thank you girls for your responses, we have VERY rocky soil here, so not sure if I can get anything in the ground far enough to hold them babies up, so think I'll thin a bit and then go from there. Can always count on your girls for good input!!

I planted hollyhocks along my picket fence in the front yard-didn't do a thing last summer, but this summer.....WOW! Must have been that extra bump of chicken manure-

Mine aren't near tall enough to stake yet, but they are loaded with soon to be hollyhock flowers.

I have noticed a definite lacey consistency on some of the leaves should I worry?

I'd stake them with bamboo stakes and thin them a little so that the rose has good air circulation around it.
