This evening my hubby and I had our first salad straight from the garden: tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, zucchini, onion tops, parsley, okra. I added boiled eggs. It was so fresh and wonderful.

YuM!! that sounds so good and crunchy and delicious. My garden is still a little behind and all I have are berries and herbs. Soon....

Enjoy!

I grew a mesclun salad mix this year. I hate it. I will never do that again. I don't know what I was thinking. I always do a spring mix. I do not like that arugula. It's too much like cilantro, which I really HATE. Yuck. So I am very envious of you, Marly. I would love to have a nice fresh salad. Enjoy yours. It's too hot here right now. Maybe in the fall I can grow more.

First salad here tonight as well. We have red butter lettuce that seeded itself last summer and grew through the spring, green lettuce, baby spinach, and radishes. This is joy.

YAY Marly!! Isn't it fun to "pick" dinner from your very own garden! I love to be able to go out and gather some fresh basil or parsley to throw in something. You are a bit ahead of us too. The tomatoes are just setting blooms and the summer squash are just getting ready to "go!"

Amy Grace: I love the thought too, of having dinner from the garden. Tomorrow, I'll make another salad. It is just so fresh, and cool. The weather here is so, so hot.

Yum Marly - we are a bit behind you but had egg salad sandwiches with arugula and radishes that I harvested from our garden. That is my favorite thing, to go pick dinner!!
