Long story short -My b-day gift (a chicken named Thyme) from my best friend was still at my friend's house during filming of her garden for the PBS show called Growing a Greener World. Thyme ended up in a fun shot! Also, I was the third camera operator for one day of the 5 days the episode was shot in L.A. It was enough to get me listed in the credits! Fun stuff. The episode, called Urban Homesteading - Living Homegrown Fresh debuted this weekend on PBS stations nationwide and is now available online in its entirety on www.growingagreenerworld.com

Visit my blog (listed in my signature below) for my behind the scenes look at that day...

Her garden is amazing! I would love to have a garden like that. It just amazes me how people can get so much in so little a space. But she does. And feeds her whole family and gives some away and preserves the rest. That just goes to show you how it can be done. And done well.

Yes, Hildi is a beautiful girl. She lays the most beautiful almost blue eggs just about every day. And they are BIG. I bet yours does too.

Karen, I wish I had known about that. I did watch a little of it from the link you gave. You new chicken is so cute with it's nice little hat. And the one on the right looks like my Hildi.
