Posted - Oct 04 2010 : 07:49:57 AM Nora and I dug a row of carrots yesterday. She was absolutely captivated. She thought it was the COOLEST thing ever to see how big the carrots got. The variety we planted must be a shorter version but some of them were nice and big around.
It's so fun to watch kids get "into" the food harvesting. I hope Nora stays excited about gardening and food. :)

Posted - Oct 05 2010 : 07:14:26 AM Nora is really cute in the garden. She kisses all the baby plants when they are coming up and she pets and strokes them as they grow. Yesterday morning for breakfast she had oatmeal and a carrot. LOL They are very good too- nice and sweet. I can't wait to grow more next year!

Posted - Oct 04 2010 : 7:00:30 PM Alee, how sweet. I think gardening with kids is awesome. It's building a memory, too. I remember gardening with my Daddy and also my grandmother's yard and being amazed at her roses and plants. I just volunteered to help with my daughter's garden club at school. It's been so much fun so far!
Hugs,
Nicole

Posted - Oct 04 2010 : 11:20:56 AM That's exciting about Nora. Isn't it so much fun?? We pulled some at the neighbors. Only meant to take a few but they kept coming up. Had to stop the BF and rebury the edges. They were wonderful tasting. Next year we are going to plant carrots.
