We harvested our onion crop about 2 weeks ago and as per the instructions of the local Agway we layed them out on card board in our basement (partial dirt, exposed stone basement). They are getting soft.

Anyone encounter this or know where we went wrong?

first question would be, are they storing type onions? is there moisture in the room. is it too warm? just a thought or two. sherrye.
