I'm desperate for something to tell me that spring is coming. Okay, maybe I'm a little bit impatient, I have gotten 3 already - Baker Creek which I kept and 2 I will not name but which I dumped because of the gmo connections. I want more wishbooks!!

Laurie - I know exactly what you mean. I'm trying to only work with what I absolutely need this year, be it in the kitchen, fabric, garden etc. Well I made my "have to have" list for the seed catalog - not even including what I will buy locally - and I have a full page:) "Yes, honey, I do need them all"

Baker's Creek arrived yesterday. I'm very excited. I just love the pictures and it is large enough to spread on the table with paper. The hard part is not overdoing the order. hehe

I have to laugh,,,I got a couple of seed catalogs,,,only to torment me,,,looking in catalog see beautiful plants & ideas then look outside and see a foot of snow.....then yesterday nearly all the snow melted away only to be replaced with todays new layer of snow....
I think before I get to gung ho, I will set the catalogs aside....it's such torment to dream of a fantabulos gareden when we still have snow on the ground.....aacckk!

I actually have gotten all my regulars - SSE, Baker Creek, and John Scheeper's. That day I only had Baker Creek to look at and was feeling antsy - what a difference 12 days makes:)

If you haven't recieved your catalogs by now then you should be checking with the seed companies. I have all of mine including SSE, Baker Creek, High Mowing, and more.....many more. Since it seems like being clear over here on the west coast I get mine last that everyone should have theirs by now.

I agree with Angela. I was dropped from several seed companies because I had not ordered from them the prior year. I want to keep up on the new things from all over the companies in the North (my temp zones). Rather than just using their internet catalogues, I want them in paper form. It's the only way, I can lay catalogues side by side & see what they have to offer.

I will have to look for the High Mowing and order it too...I'm on a tight budget this year so I have to really think about my seed catalog purchases. I'm lucky to work at an organic food store where we sell Botanical Interests seeds so I can get two or three packets a week and work it into my grocery budget - I've been very happy with their seeds in the past and they are "safe seeders" too:)

My favorite seed catalogs are Baker Creed (heirloom seeds) and High Mowing Organic Seeds (100% organic).

Whew- nick of time, I got my favorite catalog yesterday. It's the John Scheeper's catalog and for some reason I like it best - it doesn't have any photos, but lots of descriptions and gardening tips from Barbara Damrosch, plus they sign the safe seed pledge. Anyway - I'm already at about 3 times my budget on my preliminary wish list for this one catalog so it's probably good I haven't gotten more:)

Make sure you're actually on the mailing lists for them. I found out I wasn't on some of the ones I thought I was. I started callin some of the places I hadn't gotten yet and got put on their lists. I'm startin to get my wish books now. This month and next is the big ones for them.

Amy be patient a little longer. I've noticed that they are just starting to come here and there.
Maybe if you still have any from last year you can revive them and they might hold you over until this year's come.
Try to think warm thoughts
