I couldn't resist today and bought 8 dahlia tubers.....now what to do with them until it's warm enough to plant (about 2 mos.). Too cold in the fridge in the garage, do have a cool bedroom.....for now, they're in a paper bag, in a galv. garbage can, off the garage floor. If anybody has any bright ideas, I could use them!! I don't want them to start growing, but I don't want them to freeze either!!

So long as they don't get damp and start to rot, the paper bag in a cool room should do the trick. I love dahlias and can't resist them either. Have fun planting yours when spring finally sticks around!

Thanks for your reply Nancy, when we lived in Enumclaw that's what I did, if I even dug them, but over here it's still very cold, in fact they're forecasting the highs the next few days to only be between 10-15 degrees, so think I will definately bring them in, keep them in the paper bag and put them in the cool bedroom until it warms up again.

I think the main thing is to keep them from freezing or getting too hot. We keep ours in the garage with pretty good luck. I'm too lazy to do much else
