The Garlic Chives are still thriving here in West TN. Even after 2 freezes that killed most of my other flowers. They smell wonderful the bees cover them in spring and Summer! All parts of the plant can be used for cooking. Connie #3392 Imagine.... |

Posted - Dec 15 2023 : 12:52:52 PM Connie, your garlic chives look great. I have a small pot of chives on my back deck.
This is the first year I have winter over my bay tree outside on the back deck. So far it has survived a couple of nights at 27 degrees without being covered. My sage, Greek oregano, rosemary, and mint are green and doing fine too. I did lose my thyme. There is something about thyme that I have a hard time keeping it alive.

Posted - Dec 15 2023 : 12:42:48 PM Definitely a different year, weather-wise. Dec 15 & I picked lettuce & spinach out in the high tunnel & even kale from outside garden-up here in Northern Michigan!
When asked “How are you?”, I reply, “Better than good!” |
