Posted - Aug 14 2008 : 8:23:52 PM I found the perfect Farmgirl TV channel. It is on my Bresnan extended cable package and it is all about farming, ranching, preserving heritage and such. Some of the shows are of course more geared towards the conventional farmer/rancher which is a shame, but a lot of them are so amazing! You should check it out! I have it recording lots of programs about horse riding/training and heritage.

Posted - Aug 16 2008 : 07:00:16 AM OMG.. I love Hee Haw. I think I cut teeth on that show! As a child I stand in front of the TV and when the snipppet of jokes frm the cornfield would come on, and they'd sing that silly song "where oh where are you tonight...? me and my grandpa would try to raspberry each other first! I have been watching RFD for awhile now. we (??hubby!) watch the tractor pulls.... go figure. I used to put "musicals" on for my grandpa (who'd get a kick out of me singing & dancing in the living room...hey, I was like, five years old...)I think his favorite was the women out by the clothesline singing the rumor song! GOOD MEMORIES!!

Posted - Aug 15 2008 : 7:32:16 PM I believe the Dutch Oven Cooking show is with Cee Dub (Butch) Welch. He is a local man and is on our local PBS station occasionally. I love his Blackberry Cobbler.

Posted - Aug 15 2008 : 07:13:33 AM My favorite show is the Poka show. Just a bunch of folks playing music and dancing the poka. All ages having a good time. Reminds me of the dances we used to go to 50/60 years ago. Every one took their kids and everyone was dancing. |
