Posted - Aug 12 2009 : 11:32:41 PM Back in the fall of 2005 a charm quilt exchange took place. We sent out blocks and buttons to the farmgals on the list. It was a great success. I made a simple patch quilt backed with flannel. I use it a lot. It is the perfect size for curling up under on the couch and reading a good book. I made a bracelet out of the buttons. I wear it a lot and always get comments about it. Anyway, as I was unpacking and putting my new craft room to right, I came across the cards that came with the squares.
Sadly, I found that only 4 of the gals I recieved squares from still post. I wanted to thank them again for how they have helped to keep me warm and bring comfort in curling up under my farmgirl quilt. So, to Aunt Jenny, 'Therusticottage', 'Shepherdess', and 'junebug', thanks again girls, your warm my soul as well as my body! To the other gals, wherever they be, blessings!

Posted - Aug 13 2009 : 09:24:37 AM I reckon life just happens. I know there was a time I wasn't posting, other things just took priority. I really missed it and was glad when I was able to return.
Katie, you must have been part of another one, cause I don't have you on the list sent to me way back when. How fun to have your charms going into different things. I enjoy being part of the exchanges, though I haven't in recent months. Hope now that I am getting settle I will have time to do it again.

Posted - Aug 13 2009 : 05:18:59 AM Ahem. I may have been part of that exchange? I did send charms and buttons to a whole list of farmgirls -- I remember it well, because it was soon after I joined the forum. It may have been the second charm swap that year, so maybe I wasn't in on yours. . . .
Anyway, fun to hear again about the charm exchange. And good for you in making the quilt! My charms joined the stash here and are used now and again in pincushions and pieced potholders.
