Posted - Jul 27 2011 : 09:09:40 AM As clutzy as I am, I'm happily surprised that I haven't accidentally done myself in before now But here I be, lookin' at 51 stinkin' years August 26!!! Wow! So, what can a livin' on a teeny income girl do for her birthday? I've already thanked God for these crazy wonderful years so far, so now I need to do the celebratin'! I don'/can't drink and I'm trying to slim down, so no triple layer fudge cakes please
So far, I'm thinking of packing a cooler with healthy and tasty goodies and finding a good spot on some river bank with a few good friends for a petite soiree
Cheap-ish fun ideas please!
HUGS!!!

Posted - Jul 28 2011 : 1:37:07 PM I just turned 41 yesterday. I'm feeling pretty young. I just wanted to chime in and suggest fruit parfaits with low/no fat pudding, granola or low fat cookies. Hope you have a fun time.

Posted - Jul 28 2011 : 06:57:46 AM Great ideas ladies! LOL! Thanks Shirley Jean =) When I was a kid, a year took next to forever! I try to live in the moment, it slows the year down to a manageable level!
So far I've got a plan to go up to a beautiful set of falls a couple of hours from my home and have a picnic birthday with friends and their little ones. Menu still being decided but it's going to include huckleberry ice cream!

Posted - Jul 27 2011 : 3:24:09 PM See if there is any local free concerts or maybe there is a restraunt that offers something special for birthdays.
Google 'free things for your birthday'. I seen a list a few months back on msn that had restraunts that offered freebies for birthdays. I remember thinkin, 'wow, you could travel around town and eat well and get dessert too.'

Posted - Jul 27 2011 : 09:19:42 AM Hum the picnic sounds fun . Can you do some fishing while you are there and add some fish to your freezer? That is if you like to fish. Then you can fry the fish one night and think back on your birthday!! I just turned 50!

Posted - Jul 27 2011 : 09:12:02 AM Sounds like a right on idea, to me, Annika! What a wonderful year to celebrate! Any free music around you folks? You could take your picnic and your gurl tour there. What about local festivals or fairs? Fair season is kicking up and you could simply scrimp enough for a ride ticket and "maybe" something fried and sweet!
