We are staying with a dear friend in Sacramento, CA. I have never been here before and it is nice to see her in her own lovely home. We have been to Old Sacramento and saw the riverboat and the old town. It is easy to imagine it as "the old west" with cowboys and stagecoaches. My nursing company has said that I can use the apartment that I was scheduled for until that first month rent is up (May 24). So we will probably leave next week for Oregon and Washington state to sightsee there. With no time pressure we will probably take the coast road.
My fingerprints were rejected by the nursing board in Oregon which is why they haven't cleared me for my RN license. Apparently 4 of my fingers no longer have fingerprints. I have never heard of this but the fingerprint people say it is very common with nurses because we wash our hands so much that the fingerprints don't hold up. The Oregon board wants me to be fingerprinted in Oregon, so I will be printed there and hope they go through and I can get my Oregon license.
I got my prints done in California and they were accepted. I got a license for California yesterday. Almost evey week, something comes up in California. So now we wait. I'll keep you posted. Joey

Thanks Melody. It has been a tough 2 years and I am just beginning to start to feel like my old self. I have appreciated all the farmgirl support through all of my life this past 2 years. Joey

Oh my Joey...Beauticians have issues with fingertips too!

You sound alright-kind of like you are getting into a groove after the initial shock huh? Do you plan on staying out west then? Whatever you decide I really believe there is a reason behind all of this-that you were meant to be out there at this particular time. Have a safe trip up the coast to Oregon-Sounds gorgeous!
