Posted - Aug 12 2012 : 05:12:52 AM I went to sit on my back porch yesterday afternoon and there under one of the chairs, curled around the legs was a Black Racer Snake.
Fortunately, the black racer is a harmless snake and is really good in keeping pests away. My dear husband tried to catch him so he could put him back in the bushes but this little guy was too fast. He went up on the chair and then scurred about the patio with my husband chasing him. Finally he went under a wheel barrow and I guess he hid there until he felt safe enough to go back into the bushes.
I am glad it wasn't a rattlesnake.

Posted - Aug 12 2012 : 06:10:35 AM Oh Nancy, that would have given me the creeps, even if it was a harmless snake. Snakes don't bother me too much if I know what kind they are, but I do not like them too close either.
