Posted - Aug 30 2012 : 5:13:43 PM My soon-to-be-husband (marrying him Saturday!!!) bought a house for us in February. He has done all the work on it himself, and has completely outdone himself. I just wanted to brag on how great he is! Here are a couple pictures to prove it!
This is after he tore out the rotten kitchen cabinets, after he replaced rotten floors joists and put down new subflooring in the kitchen.

This is the living room area, with new floor joists in.

And this is our kitchen as of yesterday!

This is our living room area...

The dining area... (albeit fuzzy!)

And he gave me a craft/sewing room!!! I've never ever had more than a corner!

Our bedroom...

I am just SO EXCITED to be marrying him Saturday I can't contain it!!! I am SO proud of everything he's done for us, working on the house and, well, just everything! He's more than I ever dreamed of! I'm so happy I'm going to be his wife...the day after tomorrow!!!

Posted - Aug 31 2012 : 6:35:44 PM He is so great, isn't he???!!!
We got through the rehearsal fine today, got most everything set up, I took the cake and left it in the fridge at the church...it's coming together just fine.
Just so long as he doesn't call me "Sheala Kay Custer" instead of Kayla Shea Custer...like he did in the rehearsal. :) And as long as I don't laugh, which is likely....
17 hours and it'll be done. :D

Posted - Aug 31 2012 : 5:34:57 PM Congratulations!!! What a wonderful job he did. You are a blessed young lady. I wish you all the happiness in the world. My husband and I married young (18 and 19). We went all the way through college married and will celebrate 42 years in December. If you are half as happy as we have been, then as the old saying goes, YOU DONE GOOD!

Posted - Aug 31 2012 : 07:54:33 AM Oh you are so lucky to have found such a great guy. His love for you shows in everything he did for your home. How wonderful he made sure you have a craft room too. That must of really touched your heart, going from only having a corner to your own room. I have one who is the same! He can make anything and he has truly redone every room in our home. It means so much to have a home that you have made your own. Congratulations and I hope your wedding day is just the way you have always pictured it. I have a feeling it's going to be wonderful!
Hugs, Mary Jane

Posted - Aug 30 2012 : 8:27:52 PM Thanks, everyone!
Funny about the size of the sewing room! I'm going to work on it a lot, as far as storage space and organization, then I'll get another picture! Right now I just sorta threw everything of mine in there! The cabinet closest to the door...it's really a china cabinet I got for $15 and I'm going to paint it coral one day. It's also supposed to be taller...looks kinda dorky right now...the feet split on it, so I have to get new ones.
Anywho, I'll be working on organizing all the way around for a while! There is another bedroom as well, and all our "stuff" is there right now. I have a few boxes of books that I can't unpack yet...I'm bringing a couple more bookshelves from my parent's house and I can't take them til after wedding company leaves! It'll be a little while before I get everything just perfect. :)

However, I do have ONE teensy, tiny thing which you may need to change about your house... Are you SURE your sewing room is gonna be large enough?? I mean, those rooms really get small pretty quickly, yanno!!
