A Pit Bull and some kind of big black dog. I got a call about 30 minutes ago from a neighbor to let me know they were in there and my horses were running like mad. I ran out, grabbed a pitchfork and went after the dogs. Some man came to get the dogs. I yelled at him in unladylike sailor and trucker (of which I am both) terms what would happen if my horses got hurt. My boys are so bugged!! Turns out, they belong to the neighbor's company and have also been harassing the neighbor who called me, her cats.

Anyway, the man stayed out of range of me, said something to me, I couldn't understand it but he sure understood me, no two ways about it!!

Argh!!!

Your story makes me feel lucky that our mare hates dogs and will run them out. It horrible to come outside and see your horses running. Such a different feeling than when you watch them running for the sheer joy of it.

So glad you seem to have fixed this problem once and for all.

Good for you!!!

I'm glad you have not had anymore more problems with those dogs, city rasied dogs are not country safe...

All has been so quiet here. The dogs are still gone. When you state something to someone and they know you mean it, it's amazing how quickly a problem gets fixed.

put a large sign in your yard that reads: "ANY dogs harrassing livestock CAN/AND WILL BE SHOT ON SIGHT", penal code ????, any injures to said livestock is on the owners of the dogs, and I will follow thru!!!

Turns out, these dogs have been harassing the neighborhood cats and dogs for quite a long time, longer than we've been here. The owners have ignored all the complaints. However, since the dogs went after LIVESTOCK, they upped the ante. If the dogs hurt my horses, I can legally shoot them, if my horses are hurt, the owners get the vet bill plus a possible huge fine for dogs harassing livestock.

Today, the dogs were nowhere in evidence. Either they were in the house or taken back to the city.
