Today I went to run our dishwasher and the cord was shorting out at the site of a repair (prior to when we bought it). It was a terrible repair and so I decided to repair it properly. I bought a new cord and ended up splicing it into the connector.

We bought it was used and it was sooo gross inside. Let's just say I don't normally clean with bleach but I bleached it like crazy. It was so gross. Anyway- it is all clean and rewired now and working like a champ!

Thanks ladies! It was actually kind of fun- minus the mouse poop part. I have done other rewiring before- I got my VW Bug up and running and replaced cords on my dryer but this was the firs actual splicing that I have had to do since my bug so it was fun to get back into it. It's always interesting to see the guts of our appliances and such. :)

Great for you Alee, working with electricity scares me, even when I see someone else working with electricity I worry!

How proud of yourself are you? I just love when I can brag about doing something like that. I haven't repair an electrical cord though. That is super cool. Congratulations to you!
